Because when the nrl does handle it well people will still complain. And because they've got it wrong on so many occasions that when they do get it right people will complain because the player got an appropriate penalty while a player at their club copped it a lot worse ( for example if they had handled this case the right way people would have complained that mitchell pearce was harshly dealt with).
Last yeat their was an incident in arizona involving souths players and even though that matter was resolved without going through the courts the club still fined both players, moved one on from the club and stripped the other off the captaincy. That was handled fairly well, but because souths and the nrl had messed up the auva'a case so much, and players like brett stewart had been punished heavily for off season incidents in the past their was a big uproar in the media and on here about the way it was handled

And the club told the nrl that an incident happened in arizona, the matter had been settled and both players were punished heavily (one moved on from the club, one stripped of the captaincy).
It wasn't until the media found out they had missed out on a story and were baying for blood that the nrl had to go through it again and do the knee jerk f**k around we see so often

I'm giving you the analogy, T Greenberg and the Kelly gang's senior and his boys went to the same school, one of the most expensive schools in Australia. Like all private schools they stick by their own, much like what A Fifita has done.

It comes down to that, going toe for toe for your mates.

But what the NRL are doing is playing around with a person's livelihood and they have a chain around A Fifita neck at the moment, which is a total disgrace.

Good point again and I tend to agree with you except that with Fifita, it is VERY publically known that he has suffered from depression and tried to commit suicide. OK, I'm sure he will be fine, he's with good people that won't let him down unlike the f**ktards at NRL HQ. Loveridge was a mate before going crazy and killing T Kelly.

And now he is in jail.

No one would ever excuse what he did.

And Andrew's private business is his. But maybe KL can find some redemption through support?

Nothing will bring T Kelly back but if you can help people acknowledge their mistakes and be a better person, it will only benefit society. If you want the privilege (and it is a privilege not a "right") of earning multi millions of dollars, unfortunately its not acceptable to consort with criminals.

Once the integrity of the game is threatened then guys like Fifita very livelihood is then gone.
