Because when the nrl does handle it well people will still complain. And because they've got it wrong on so many occasions that when they do get it right people will complain because the player got an appropriate penalty while a player at their club copped it a lot worse ( for example if they had handled this case the right way people would have complained that mitchell pearce was harshly dealt with).
Last yeat their was an incident in arizona involving souths players and even though that matter was resolved without going through the courts the club still fined both players, moved one on from the club and stripped the other off the captaincy. That was handled fairly well, but because souths and the nrl had messed up the auva'a case so much, and players like brett stewart had been punished heavily for off season incidents in the past their was a big uproar in the media and on here about the way it was handled

Didn't Souths try to cover that up like a CIA operation?

You are f**king joking aren't you? The Arizona incident was a complete shit fight from both the NRL and Souths. It wasn't until some journo got the police report that the full story emerged. Handled well lol what bull shit.

And the club told the nrl that an incident happened in arizona, the matter had been settled and both players were punished heavily (one moved on from the club, one stripped of the captaincy).
It wasn't until the media found out they had missed out on a story and were baying for blood that the nrl had to go through it again and do the knee jerk f**k around we see so often

Why raise the victims school? It's a scummy attempt to try to garner sympathy for a murder.

"Bit of an idiot" you say.
Yea he says some shit stuff. The whole class warfare thing he's trying to get at is dumb. And while he's trying to say greenberg is part of the same private school sect that the family off the deceased are from, and because of the connections it may be clouding the way this thing is handled, i still can't see where nrlvader has written murder is ok if you've grown up poor

I'm giving you the analogy, T Greenberg and the Kelly gang's senior and his boys went to the same school, one of the most expensive schools in Australia. Like all private schools they stick by their own, much like what A Fifita has done.

It comes down to that, going toe for toe for your mates.

But what the NRL are doing is playing around with a person's livelihood and they have a chain around A Fifita neck at the moment, which is a total disgrace.

I feel happy when I think about the level of butthurt that people in this thread went through when Fifita scored the GF winning try.

I'll tell you all something else
The day after at Shark Park Fifita was the most popular bloke there.
When the players came on stage it was him who carried out the trophy.

Andrew is a decent, fine young man.

Smart enough to understand his mistakes as a boy and strong enough to fix his errors in life.

Great stuff with what he did around Griffiths, it would have inspired many to work hard and succeed.

A champion, a great Australian.

Do you realise how warped you sound suggesting that associating with criminals is only an issue because of some old school ties?

It makes you sound mentally unwell.

Literally noone in the world was unhappy with the Sharks winning.

Even ISIS tweeted #GoSharks

Regardless, the Sharks winning was easily the most popular GF result in half a century.

You guys are more mainstream then Taylor Swift.

Poor Andrew Fifita thrown under a bus? No he f**king wasn't.

What he did was a disgrace, not to mention the prior form he has abusing match officials at a junior match, yet he is still allowed to play on and win a grand final.

So no he wasn't thrown under a bus. The bus wasn't even driven in his direction. He got off lightly and he should be thanking his lucky stars.

Just ask Mitchell Pearce who got 8 weeks and a massive fine for far less.

Just get over it mate no one really gives a shit any more, when does the NRL handle these issues well? f**king never. Were you this worried when they threw Mitchell Pearce under a bus last year? He had issues as well you know .

Good point again and I tend to agree with you except that with Fifita, it is VERY publically known that he has suffered from depression and tried to commit suicide. OK, I'm sure he will be fine, he's with good people that won't let him down unlike the f**ktards at NRL HQ. FTR I thought the MP dog thing was a dishonorable stitch up, where the guy with the camera should have been dragged over the coals not MP.

Loveridge was a mate before going crazy and killing T Kelly.

And now he is in jail.

No one would ever excuse what he did.

And Andrew's private business is his. But maybe KL can find some redemption through support?

Nothing will bring T Kelly back but if you can help people acknowledge their mistakes and be a better person, it will only benefit society. K Loveridge will be released in less than 7 or 8 years and would you want him to come out the same man than went in? or worse as prison as they say a University for criminals.

What Andrew did was very noble.

See the video in the very first post around 4 minutes.

A former Supreme Court Judge and openly gay man in Michael Kirby, reflected that he had a mate who made mistakes in life and went to jail but he never forgot his mate and visited him.

It's only a natural human thing to do to support your friends/mates, why would you be punished for it?

If you want the privilege (and it is a privilege not a "right") of earning multi millions of dollars, unfortunately its not acceptable to consort with criminals.

Norman and Segayaro hanging around with bikies is case in point.

Once the integrity of the game is threatened then guys like Fifita very livelihood is then gone.

As for this "punishment" what was that again? Playing in GF final being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars? Wow seems very harsh.
