The official figure on the books will no doubt be a bargain - another star who was willing to take 'unders' to play for Uncle Wayne.

But no doubt the Thoroughbreds have had to fork out an extra few hundred k a year off the books.

Again, the fact that the Broncos have made one GF in the last 11 years has to be the biggest underachievement in modern Australian sport.

You took the bait beautifully, well done

There are other ongoing costs yet to be determined with Roberts' contract - ie paying off licenced establishments to NOT release CCTV footage of *alleged* atrocities committed while out on the cans plus the massive rugs and brooms required to sweep everything else under.... 4 years of sweeping coming up, that pile is going to be huge!
Sounds like the poor Broncos will be paying overs then.

I notice Herman has been blacklisted now he's signed elsewhere. Even though he's been much better than Korbin Sims this year.

Wayne is clearly disgusted that young Herman didn't take unders to re-sign for 100k a year for the privilege of being coached by Uncle Bennett.

He's coming back from an injury he suffered during the bye round playing for Souths Logan. In the meantime, Ofahengaue who just re-signed with the club has taken his spot and is in career best form.

Ese'ese started the year well but his form dipped before the Origin period. Brisbane have a lot of quality talent sitting in QCup so they're much better off investing in those prospects instead of another who is leaving at the end of the year. It's the same reason why Ponga can't get a look in at the Cowboys despite being one of the most talented players at their club. Why invest in a future that doesn't belong to you?

Surely the next stop now is driving a dumptruck full of money to Maloney's place?

Maloney at halfback steering all the young talent the knights have picked up would make for a bloody good side providing Brown can develop them all well

He would be a great buy and hopefully the club is doing everything to get him to the Knights but it all really depends on Cronk and I think he will retire. Maloney and an experienced prop would cap off a very good year of recruitment thou.

Agreed.

What did you think of the Knights/Tapine situation?

Stoked that Roberts is staying at the Broncos. He has been on fire this year and is playing his best footy under Bennett.

Boyd resigning though with Bennett coaching, big surprise.

Knights should sign from the Newcastle Real NRL Comp Terrence Seu Seu who has NRL experience. They could then have a front row of ese ese, seu seu, & pauli pauli which would equals winner, winner

The NRL shouldn't be registering "unders" contracts. It just encourages foul play from clubs who can get away with it. What was he rumoured to be getting?

They snagged Benji last year for apparently minimum wage, after he laughed off a $400k Dragons deal live on TV months earlier.

With the amount of cap fraud the NRL has uncovered over the past 2 decades you think they would be smarter than that.

They won't allow some clubs to sign players for unders. Some clubs.

Manly tries to with Glenn Stewart (who incidentally had never laced a boot up for another club) and the Eels tried to with Falou.

NRL said both times it was not permissable to sign the players under their deemed value.

If you are a scumbag News Ltd club you can do whatever the f*ck you like.

No winners in the Super League debacle my arse.

Such is the huge impact the "hive mind" effect can have. We literally can't sign a single established player without being smeared as cap cheats, while other clubs snatch up our juniors in a heartbeat and nobody bats an eyelash

Ese'Ese > Knights
Wallace > Titans
Taylor > Titans
Hunt > Dragons
Kahu > Warriors (?)

Bird > Broncos
Roberts retained
Nikorima retained
