If you're a stats driven person, Blair will be a poor signing, if you're not he'll bring good value on the field, but not for the full term at the full dollar worth.

Considering we're not in a situation to pay market rate for anyone I think it's an OK deal until he breaks down (so probably around year 3.)

One thing I find really weird, I'm assuming in this post they've signed and waived the 10 day cooling off period. The Warriors say nothing, one of the players says he's just chilling and taking their time, what are they doing? It's like they deliberately want to announce it later. No one cares later, just get it done. Imagine Ben with the Tigers, "brother, we will keep silent and pretend nothing is happening, brother you just say I'm in no rush blah blah blah, because working the fans is super cool".

Perhaps in reflection it is the 10 day thing.

Blair is an average signing, in the wrong environment he's a lazy penalty magnet. But the fact is we simply need props and have to hope for the best. No doubt we're going to waste coin and he'll probably be another Luke, but here's hoping. The pairing with Gavet might help.

Beale is interesting, if only because the Ayshford/Kata decision will be instrumental with regards to the acceptable attitude at this club.

If Kata wins, I'm pretty much writing off the year immediately.

Both Blair and Beale said talks were "on hold" because of finals.

Sequence of events. Both players sign > Media gets wind of it > Media asks questions > Players can't talk about it as it's not their place to announce it > "Talks on hold" = Leave me alone and stop asking me about this subject.

I see Beale as a replacement for Manu in our squad for next season, experienced back, not sure if he'll add much more than depth TBH. Hopefully we get JTS which would take Allwoods spot.

Blair, I don't mind it, he's not a stats player like Bull, but I see him as a guy people don't like playing against because he's always in your face, and can hit + second phase. Bull doesn't have that. Duration of the deal has me worried though, might end in heartbreak. Kiwis captain for $600k isn't too bad, but in his 3rd or 4th season it will likely be too much.

Could be a front loaded contract, seeing as we have money to burn? Doyle's onto it in terms of that stuff.

Still need a metre eater, larger go forward guy to replace Matulino. Also a few reserve grade forwards for depth.

On another matter I think mannering should move out wide next season, with Pulu/Lisone/Vete or someone playing a prop lock role, we'll need the size and most the NRL do that now. Thompson to the bench as second row/lock sub.

If you look at Blair...
Awesome under Bellamy and Bennett, 2 top coaches.

Shit under JT (Tigers) .. rubbish coach.

So how do you reckon hell go under Kearney ?

Beale I like as a player, how hell go here is anyone's guess.

Blair is not a meter eater...so we still completely lack that in our forward pack.

Upside, he is a good offloader, plays the ball quickly, and high energy defensive work. All much needed aspects.

Some leadership abilities too so not a bad signing imo although only time will tell.

And hates dying with the ball. Just hope his offloading is encouraged.

Still need more go-forward though. It should be the only priority. Not halves & outside backs!!

Matulino has an offload the Warriors brains trust successfully shut down...

Like a lot of folk I'm not 100% sold on the Blair signing especially as he is fairly old and won't give the Warriors the OMPH / gusto that they require.
However ....
I suppose we should be thankful these days that we have secured an international signing.i believe he is a great trainer so hopefully his influence rubs off on others.
I'd name him captain instantly - taking the pressure off RTS. He could also do some work on his one on one tackling.

Beale - I never really rated him however his utility factor and stability could be a positive factor for the Warriors.

I'm trying to be positive with these signings. I'd love to see a couple of Qld Cup or NSW signings from other clubs as the Warriors lack solid back up. I'm still hopeful of getting other players from clubs who have cap issues. No need to re-sign Lillyman and Thompson let's move forward rather than looking back.

Twice Blair has cost the Broncos games in the last few weeks with HORROR performances. Im so happy were not signing uselessness. Anyone that thinks Blair is good signing is blind and hasnt been watching the Broncos last few games.

Beale is mediocre. Expect that standard.

Geez I just realised we are going to sign Blair and Beale. I'm not happy at all about the new signings because I know what they bring and because of their last few games. Theyre not the types we can win premierships on the back of.

Beale hasnt been too bad but he's never too good. The same thing can be said for Blair. Actually Blair has been really bad. Never has these guys ever been in the top 5 for their positions in the NRL.
