Dear Stewbum,
It's footy finals season, and the wooden spoon is up for grabs for the worst club in Queensland!
We need your vote in Week 1 of the Semis to see who’ll go head-to-head in the decider.
It’s been a big year for dodgy clubs in the Sunshine State – from penalty rate cuts to intimidation tactics & unpaid staff super - but some clubs have stood head-and-shoulders above the rest when it comes to foul play.
In this week’s semi-final series, the always disappointing Wynnum-Manly Leagues Club clash with hot-favourites for the spoon, Club Beenleigh.
Both clubs started the season as underdogs … saying there was no plan to cut weekend pay for their workers.
Turns out – Clubs Australia were planning on doing just that and now Wynnum-Manly and Club Beenleigh are at the top of the ladder!
Who Deserves to Play for the Spoon?
Cast your vote now.
Wynnum-Manly Leagues had an appalling year, which serves them well in the semis. They won't lock in Penalty Rates for their players, they've used underhanded tactics - bullying, harassment and intimidation - all season & what’s more, they booted elderly community members out of their club when they politely asked the club to commit to paying penalty rates to players. Low blow!
Club Beenleigh comes to the finals as a favourite to take out this year’s title. Team scandals have plagued the club all season with club management underpaying superannuation, running bullying, harassment & intimidation plays and claiming they'll keep penalty rates while wanting to cut leave loading for workers. Sin-bin!
Which club deserves to go through to the Grand Final of Queensland’s Worst Club?
