Can someone explain to me why winx doesnt have the most weight to carry if she has won like 20 in a row?

Seems fixed otherwise. Like in the melbourne cup Americain won tgen the following year had to have the most weight to carry.

Also doesnt count if you pull out of races.

Im not saying what she has done doesnt make her a legend but surely to make it fair she should carry the most weight.

Despite being our most famous race the Melbourne Cup is actually a joke of a race where usually at least 20 of the 24 horse field are slower than hurdlers(not kidding),donkey handicap race.

For those who saw both is Winx the equal of Kingston Town?

I see that KT also raced the Melbourne Cup and finished 2nd, which given the distance is also a remarkable achievement as well as the 3 Cox Plates.

think the King ran from 1200 to 3200 , quite a range .depends who the opposition was for either horse as to who was better . Just lap it all up and hope you don't have to wait another 30 years for another champ

Not trying to put Winx down but his acceleration was out of this world.
Don’t think she’d have the sectionals to run him down.(speaking of sectionals that horse that ran 2nd yesterday what did he run?Gave Winx 2kgs and a start so I’m thinking he beats her at level weights but you can’t deny her will to win).

I watched all of Kingston Towns Races (over a dozen at the track).
One of my fondest memories was when I took my younger brother who was about 10 yrs old.We were out the back of Randwick whilst a race was on and the strapper was walking the King.The strapper brought him over to us (well he stopped in front of us)and I told my brother give this horse a pat.He did (was a touch scared I suspect)and I said to him never wash your hand again you’ve just touched a legend.
He’d won the Derby,Sydney Cup and first Cox Plate at that time.
My brother actually said to me a couple of years ago (he’s in his 40s now)I still remember the day you told me to pat Kingston Town.
I’m obviously biased in my opinion but honestly Winx wouldn’t beat him if they were both fully fit at any distance.I hadn’t really thought about the fact some people actually thought she could till I saw someone on tv talking about.
It’s a bit like the Beatles in my opinion.They always say someone’s better than them but strangely they’re still the ones that people compare bands to.
They’ve compared Makybe Diva,Black Caviar and a few others but they’re still comparing them with the King.

You are correct.

I saw the King once in the flesh at Randwick before it won some Group 1.in the early 1980s. I have never seen a better specimen of horse flesh in my life. The blackest, shiniest creature on the planet.

You realise that mares get 2kilos under what males race at correct, regardless. That is the reason for the difference. not that is would have mattered. Humidor got the run of the race, fast lane. Winx still won.

I do realise and it doesn’t matter what lane or weight is in play for how fast a sectional is.
Humidors come from behind her by more than the margin he got beat so his sectional will be quicker.
Just adds merit to Humidor he carried 2kg more doing it.

Swap the runs and Winx wins by 4+ lengths. Bowman was forced to take Winx further forward than ideal as the track was playing awful.

Winx still won fairly comfortably in the end

Don’t know what you meant by mares getting less than males all the time.
Assume you’re talking WFA and it differs depending on distance.Had nothing to do with what I was saying anyway but if you mean all the time take a look at race 5 at Tamworth today.
The 4yo mare gets 61kg.Didnt even have to look to see she’ll be giving weight away to all sorts.
