Down wollongong way

North Wollongong Pub

Or Towradgi beach hotel

Only pubs worth looking at down here for league. Both venues epic for origin when they have the big screens out

I’ve said for years there is a market there that is waiting for someone to own. Sydney needs someone to open a “rugby league pub”. Framed jerseys on the wall. NRL bunting. Half priced beers if you’re in a jersey. FOX NRL on 24/7. Make it THE place to go and watch the footy. Surely a pub like that would do well?

Whats the best Canberra pub for State of Origin?

Anyway for Newcastle:
Cooks Hill/Merewether/City
The Ori
The Commonwealth
The Cricketers Arms (when no union)
The Burwood Inn

In the outer suburbs
Wests Leagues Club (New Lambton)

Lived in Canberra for 3 years but I prefer to watch origin at home.
That said, everywhere puts on a big night for origin. The Dock would be good but you would need to book a table. I imagine a place like Hopscotch would probably erect a big outdoor screen, although not normally a noted sports bar. King O’Malleys is always good for sport. Grease Monkey would be good but again, it’s small and you would need to book. The lighthouse always advertise for origin but it’s a bit out of town if you were staying near the city

The duxton in Canberra also does a meal deal for raiders home games, where you get bus to and from the pub and entry to the game included in your meal, meals range from $21-$40.

If you’re in Nha Trang in Vietnam, Crazy Kim’s is the place to go. Watched the 2016 grand final there.

That real ale pub in The Rocks shows NRL and has some stonking beers on tap! Dont know what its called but at top of a steep hill which I have stumbled down a few times :)

That sir, would be The Harts Pub

A Hart is an archaic English word for a Stag - It's where Hertfordshire comes from (e's and a's used to be interchangeable in English - hence Derby being pronounced DARBY in England) and why Hertfordshire has a Stag as it's emblem - hence the Rugby League team, the Hemel Stags (originated in Hemel Hempstead)

The Harts pub is on Essex Street and is actually three old terrace houses knocked through to make a pub attached to the Shangri La Hotel (used to be the ANA)

By gum I know some useless shit
