The frustrating thing is all this f**king nonsense trying to engineer a father and son to work together when THEY WOULD ALREADY BE WORKING TOGETHER IF WE HADN'T ALREADY SACKED ONE OF THEM!!

This f**king club, man.

I tend to agree with this. However, wasn't it Ivan who said publicly that he would not have given Nathan his debut first grade game in 2016?

Katoa is ahead of Egan at the moment, Egan obviously has more potential but he hasn't done enough to walk straight into that 9 spot IMO. and currently I'd back Katoa over Ean when the going gets tough defensively...

we want both of them going hard over the off season fighting for that 9 jersey.

He says a few final things. Wonder what they could be.

Maybe this?

----------

THE Panthers need to lock down Ivan Cleary if son Nathan is to fulfil his reported contract extension.

That’s the mail from veteran league reporter Brent Read, who tweeted that Cleary junior has a clause in his contract allowing him to walk away from the deal if Ivan does not end up coaching at the foot of the mountains.

Read also said the Panthers have already tabled an offer to Ivan from 2021 when he becomes a free agent again, which is a strong indication that is in fact the case.

It’s no secret the Panthers would rather Ivan link up with them next season.

If he agrees to take the reins from 2021, with two seasons still to run at Concord, there’s a chance the Tigers will have no choice but to release him early.

On the flip side, if the Tigers can entice him to stay long-term, Nathan’s clause would mean they could potentially poach the incumbent NSW Blues No.7 too.

Probably. Ivan would be silly to say no. We have a much better chance of a premiership and improving Nathan's development over the next 3-5 years which also impacts Nathan's rep chances and $$$ further development.
