Willie Mason in the Lizard Lounge on Oxford St clearly off guts on an all night bender at about about 9:30am on a Sunday in around 2003.
Manu Vatuvei, Isaac Luke and Bodene Thompson pissed as farts at the Casino at about 4am on the weekend of the Dally Ms in 2016
Wendell Sailor in a Ponsonby St bar in Auckland in 2002
Stephen Kearney walling down High St in Auckland in the early 2000s

I have a very specific Sailor sighting- for the Rugby Union World Cup final in 2011, I was at a house party at literally the closest house to Eden Park. Sailor walked past the front gate on his way into the game, he was all dressed up and assume had some sort of media or other official commitments. He's a large man.

Funnily enough I remember being a little surprised at how normal sized he was- I’m about 6’0 and would’ve been around 90-95kg at the time and he didn’t seem a lot larger. Nice bloke though, I was giving him shit for switching codes and he was good humoured about it. Kearney on the other hand is a legit massive human, half a head taller than me, really wide across the shoulders and of course that massive head, haha.

Just remembered a couple more sightings from those days, lined up at the urinal in Coast Bar next to Matthew Ridge one night, my American mate had no clue who he was which I think dented his massive ego, haha.
Also saw Marc Ellis in another bar within a week or two of him publicly splitting with Mandy Smith and he was already tuning another equally hot bird.

And played social touch against Jason Death once, his team flogged us

Perception is a funny thing with those one off meetings where someone is bigger/smaller than you expect. It's a pointless thing to argue but I doubt Kearney is any taller than Sailor....listed 6'3" and that's gotta be at best when you compare him to Simon Mannering....

On Sailor, in the first part of his rugby league career he was about 100kg and when he came back the second time he was at least 110kg. He went from being sort of tall and lean looking to pretty massive, bordering on chubby with a huge arse. That was the version I saw.

Yeah maybe Kearney had big shoes on or something but he was noticeably taller taller than me, Dell wasnt. Bigger frame than Mannering too. It was the shoulders that really struck me

From Panthers CEO to Woolies manager? Jesus...
Hey don't knock those Woolies execs mate - look at Kieran Foran's old man.

Payne has an MBA. If he keeps his head down 15 years from now he could be making f**king bank at that organisation.

When I worked in a supermarket after school I was firmly of the opinion that every adult employee was a total loser.

I worked for Woolies corporate in a state role. Not coming from a retail background I had to work a week instore. The manager at the store I bunked at was a lovely bloke. Woolies store managers are overworked, underappreciated and certainly underpaid.

I admire people in the role. They cop a hiding and the company just expects more and more.

Odd that with his education and experience in league he's working as a store manager at Woolies. I'm insinuating that he's obviously a masochist working in that role.

Hey I was 16-17, I’m sure my opinion would be a tad kinder these days!

I got knocked back by woolies

That was the thing, as a school kid the supermarket jobs were pretty much the best after school job you could get, so you thought you were doing pretty good yourself, but that anyone who stayed there after leaving school was a loser.
