I hope part of the re-negotiation is to pay him much less to be an assistant and put some heavy ended performance based incentive which if he does not meet can be sacked on the spot with no pay. That way he will not sign and leave on his own accord.
The fact that we will have no competition for his "services "means A. We can wait until at least the end of th 2019 competition and B Make the contact all our way with get out clauses everywhere. If he then gets us a comp then then will not give a shit how much it cost us !

We don't want Mary, Hornby or Young anywhere near the coaching job in 2020. It has already been far too long and there is no need to consider the appointment of a new coach right now, for goodness sakes the 2019 competition has not started yet.

Only one half of the Board was cleaned out with the WIN buy-in. Now it is time to clean out the St George side of the Board.

Mary has the squad he wants and also the board he needs to remain employed.

Lord knows there isn’t another club in the NRL who would contemplate hiring him as a head coach.

Painter or cleaner yes.

Coach no.

So much for WIN bringing professionalism and business nous to the board.

L Plate has a lacklustre win/loss record after 5 seasons and now apparently deserves a new 3 year contract.

If the story is true, CEO and entire board should resign immediately.

The Writing was on the wall when they excepted the Gordon deal over the other party who offered more money and had extensive sporting contacts and could have helped with TPA's.

Possm what makes you think the Illawarra side of the board has been cleaned out? WIN had a lot of influence pre buyout and the same influence is pulling the strings post buyout.

I could be wrong but I am sure that the current chairman is the only member returning. The rest of that side of the Board are WIN appointees and not Illawarra Club delegates. Now it's time to clean out the St George side of the Board and once that is done, the old boy's club may be finished for good.

Yikes..No... it is his manager ringing reporters to get things going and test the market to see if other offers come forth...surely
Think about it...as if the Dragons board or heirarchy would ring a reporter and offer this story.
Dont believe a word of this article!
Slow news day!..Dont get riled up and sucked in everyone.

I hope you are correct.
I really do. The alternative is ugly.

So you don't still think McGregor has already been told that he won't be re signed and is only playing for a coaching gig at another club next year?
Welcome back to earth Possm.
Here is another fact for you so you don't get too disappointed when it happens.
Aitken and Lafai will be the starting centres.
