how do they decide which to go for in foul play? If that head shot with a straight arm on a guy without the ball is only a yellow what constitutes a red card offence these days?

Once upon a time the yellow card/sin bin was really just for the fights and repeated penalty infringements. Send offs/Reds were for deliberate attempts to hurt players or inappropriate conduct (Tallis calling Harrigan a cheat). These days they're terrified to send guys to the bin, and we've had one send off in 2 years?

Last year the use of the sin bin was great, this year it has been underused again.

I can’t say yesterday’s tackle was a deliberate cheap shot, so I think they got it right.

Other years, it would just be on report.
