The Daily Mercury reports that Barba has been spotted turning out for Mackay Premier League side Mackay Rangers.
The former Bulldogs, Broncos, Sharks and St Helens No. 1 is being deployed as a striker and has played in two games for the club’s first-grade side so far.

Barba was sacked by the North Queensland Cowboys in pre-season for an incident on Australia Day at Townsville Casino.
The fullback, who won the premiership with the Sharks in 2016, has been told he is not welcome in the NRL.
But he is receiving a warm reception for the Rangers, with coach Andrew Susani saying the club was not concerned about Barba’s past.
“From our point of view we are not interested in the past, we are interested in now,” Susani told the Daily Mercury.
“Ben came to us and was really open about it all. He just wanted to be one of the players.
“He’s an athlete and he loves competition and the game.”
