We are a soft team and club and have been for a long while.
When things get tough on the field we turn it up and run for the hills.
Teams know as soon as it gets too hard for us they have our measure.
A bunch of marshmallows.
I disagree with the soft label. Cant play for 80 Yep. Lack of impact in set starts in metres gained Yep.
SOFT belongs to our board and current coaching regime and performance
SOFT belonged to that pack we had as Ben Creagh captain when Willie Mason called us out playing in a Newcastle jersey.
Our team is not soft, it lacks mental aptitude for 80, a mix of few good players + young players not at their prime and a mix of players past their prime.
There is potential screaming at our club and at full strength one of the better packs in the comp.
Coaching staff are the issue, selections, HIGH performance staff are the issues not improving some players and in off seasons obviously dont practice enough the tough part of defense and attack in our games under fatigue like the other clubs continually work on.
Mary targeting 16 to hold teams too..that is SOFT coaching. We cant even do that and lucky to defend double that.
Mary and defensive coaches (Dean Young and Hornby for the backs) have to go!

These people on here, media and the club again mention the JDB saga as affecting the teams performance and will is the SOFT excuse which is not the case.

The players get paid no matter the result as does the coach utter disgrace.

It's not shear luck Melbourne keep losing players and the following year still make the top 4 with new blood.

It's not shear luck Melbourne loose a comp 1 year and the following win one!

It's not shear luck melbourne keep winning under all adversity such as rep players out and or injuries.

They are simply better coached, managed and recruited. Dragons need to closely look at Melbourne model and implement it.
IT WORKS.

After all we all have the same salary cap! right ?

It all just comes back to us not being a professionally run organisation.

Any successful business looks to fill it's senior positions with the best talent available. How is it that all of our coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, administrators, scouts etc. are ex-players? What an incredible coincidence that of all the qualified people who would be seeking employment at the highest (NRL) level in the game, the majority of our senior staff also just happen to have played for the club.

There would be blokes coaching local party footy, with all the correct coaching qualifications but their own ideas, who would make a far better go of directing the club than the morons currently masquerading as leaders.

Wouldn’t copying the Melbourne model of no shear luck just make us sheep?

I hope the boys read this thread and get hard.

So hard.

So very hard.

So hard that anyone that plays us walks away sore thinking “holy shit how did those blokes get so hard? They just absolutely pounded me”.

Hard.

I find it funny how people want to post more frequently when the team is losing and its gloomy.
I don't get that behavior.
I post a heap when we are winning because I am motivated and into the team and the stories behind the team.
When we lose I can barely be bothered.

I post more when I can remember my password ... but usually if there winning then I’m out enjoying it when they lose it affects my weekend
