The stats show his errors were very bad in his first season, but then he reduced the error rate from 1.5 a game to 1 per game.
Can't argue with stats - he can't make too many errors when he doesn't get the ball because the team has poorly planned attack due to uninspired coaching.

The other Mark would agree.

You can say it’s been poorly managed, you can also argue that it’s just being managed.

Things happen, positions become weak, changes need to be made.

It is what it is.

Anyway, in this case it’s unlikely to be salary cap issues. We’ve already moved DWZ who was on around 500k next year.

It all depends on what Ivan sees as being out weakness.
I don’t wanna lose Blake, but he’s not cheap as we are weaker in other areas.

It may also be that he doesn’t want to be at the club, much like DWZ, if that’s the case, bye bye.

Hopefully it’s the case and we hang onto him.

We chose club favourite Mansour instead. It was a decision based on sentiment which screwed us over.
While true. Destroying this Lebanese backline wouldn't be a career highlight for an NRL player.

We must have thought Sivo was too big and fast. We seem to hate those kinds of players.

Certain members of the coaching staff believed SIVO was having difficulties mastering positional play, had issues under the high ball and defensive deficiencies and as a result they were of the view he would not develop sufficiently to play NRL. It would appear they were wrong. Little effort was made to retain him and he was basically allowed to leave to whomever was willing to pick him up as it turned out the Eels took the risk and so far it is paying off.

We need new coaching staff.

I recall the trial match v Parra when Sivo scored a try and Gus could not remember his name in commentary..The Game was live streamed

Can’t get much weaker than we are at centre. We’ve got a second rower & a guy who had to be called up from outside the top 30 in the team right now.

Going off what Kilkenny says t wasn’t a matter of choosing Mansour over Sivo anyway.

If we’d re-signed Sivo he would’ve been a back up this year, that means they chose MWZ over Sivo.

Mansour is still an all round better player than Sivo, but the problem is we lack strike in our backline.

I watched SIVO in NSW Cup on a number of occasions and there was never any doubt he was powerful and relatively quick for a big body. I’ll be honest I didn’t think he would be good enough to play NRL there were too many deficiencies in his game. I’m sure they are still there but for the time being he is getting away with them and perhaps the Eels coaching staff have done a lot of work with him to at least reduce his errors. Good luck to him, he was unwanted by us and found a home at the Eels.

I agree with you. He struggled with the basics... Many players burst onto the scene only to fall away as teams target. Be interesting to see if these show up over time
