Going off what Kilkenny says t wasn’t a matter of choosing Mansour over Sivo anyway.

If we’d re-signed Sivo he would’ve been a back up this year, that means they chose MWZ over Sivo.

Mansour is still an all round better player than Sivo, but the problem is we lack strike in our backline.

The problem with the squad is. All the wingers are the same. Same across the side. All props play same style etc

If we let Katoa go and he wins a premiership I'll be devastated.

Penrith just love letting go of all their talented juniors.

Katoa is not talented we have kenny egan and luai who are all better than katoa hes off contract and he shouldn't get another one in my opinion.

Blokes sometimes come good in their mid and even late 20s. Up until then they bounce around from club to club. Those who never come good do likewise until they accept their lot as a reserve grader. Katoa would be OK on minimum wage or close to it until he turns into Damien Cook or maybe someone else wants to pay him more. His main problem as I see it is that he's not fast enough between the ears at dummy half. He's strong and tough and can work hard but too slow deciding what to do.

Look how Havili has transformed himself, very similar build & skill set. Tbh I think that’s the perfect role for Katoa, rather than having another Hooker (only) in the 14.

Seems to have been made the scapegoat though because our halves aren’t/weren’t creating. You’d think he’d be off to ESL or similar at the end of the year & Would probably do pretty well.

The Havili comparison is a good one. With some experience he may yet become a better hooker.

I dont think he's being made a scapegoat for anything. He has been our worst performing hooker this year. In a very average bunch.

That said I think he has a good skillset inside him and could be a very good player with the right coach. Craig Bellamy would turn him into a good reliable player IMO. I wish we could ship our players to him for 12months before debuting. I think some players would be twice as good within a single pre-season.

I wonder whether he'd consider a well-paying job in the club's centre of excellence to specialise in something like that.
That would be a fantastic thing for the club to do. I would trust him ahead of anyone to identify what players to keep and to turn them into the stars they could become.

Might be more likely than getting him to ever coach against the Storm

Dave and Dave’s mate should be taking note of this!

All 3 hookers. Have shown glimpses of good and average play. He is further along so should be showning more

Certain members of the coaching staff believed SIVO was having difficulties mastering positional play, had issues under the high ball and defensive deficiencies and as a result they were of the view he would not develop sufficiently to play NRL. It would appear they were wrong. Little effort was made to retain him and he was basically allowed to leave to whomever was willing to pick him up as it turned out the Eels took the risk and so far it is paying off.

This is 100% correct. It looks as though it took 1 preseason under decent coaching staff to get him right for the NRL. What does that say about our Staff? Their judgement and coaching ability is questionable.

He still has his flaws. Eels just work to his strengths.

He's a genetic freak and we idenitify a single weakness and look past him to someone else. Rather than looking at how we can use his size and speed.

Eels haven't fixed his flaws. They're just backing him to be able to minimise how often they're exposed. It was f**king absurd for us to not give him a crack at all. As if Mansour, Crichton and Phillips didnt have flaws aswell... like seriously. A genuine beast is ruled out altogether. When his issues werent exclusive to him.

When teams start focusing on him. He will look ordinary easy to hide flaws for a bit. Eventually he will get found out

Ricky cannot wait for Hodgson to be back.

The replacement is crap an will be back in reserves ASAP.

He is better than Katoa, so 2nd worse in the comp.

Egan is your man.
