Talau played about as good as he could as a rookie playing against some of the best players in the world targeting him all game.

No. Did he look like Robbie or Benji or Brooks when they came into first grade.

I'm being a realist and I really thought his game was passable. It's not often you debut and your first task is a red hot Manly team with the Turbo brothers and DCE launching their attack at you all game.

That is the thing his game was just passable. That isn't a reason to retain him. You can bring him on slowly and if he is the best option then pick him.

I think Rob could be a top 1st grader but he needs to drop about 7-10kg & run with power, fight in tackles. At the moment he is slow, no power & submits as soon as a hand is laid on him.

After a strong performance for the club's Canterbury Cup side last weekend, Robert Jennings returns on the wing for his first NRL game since Round 17 — pushing Paul Momirovski in to the centres and last week's debutant Talau to the reserves.

It looks like the club had a different perspective on Jennings performance.

See I miss all that defence stuff u’s and commentators catch ...All I saw was when Talau made that break he had s bit of space to work with although not too much...yet no effort to create an angle for a step and then no attempt at a step or fend at all...It was more a lumbering run and then tackled...No good ...next...he may have been a bit psyched out by then as was posted there was a bit of shit coming his way...still that was his moment ...if he had of done something there ..he would have stayed in the team

Anyways I'm not good on stats but it feels like we always make young kids on debut look immortal, I've seen some of his highlights and he has speed to burn, one thing we always struggle to contain
