Goalkicking forwards

Gallen's shots at goal this year suggest that he could have been one of the great all-time pointscorers if he had worked on kicking and taken shots at goal regularly starting from an earlier point in his career.

On that topic, it feels like goalkicking forwards are less common than they used to be. Not so long ago you had backrowers like Craig Fitzgibbon, Wayne Bartrim, Michael Crocker and David Furner who were noted pointscorers with good kicking ability. These days the only regular goalkicker I can think of who is a backrower/prop is Ethan Lowe.

Amazingly, Corey Parker was Brisbane's no.1 goalkicker for most of his career.

He was well known for missing crucial ones. Then getting the hard ones from the sideline when there was no pressure.

I believe he has the record for most goals kicked in a game for Brisbane.

Craig Fitzgibbon had a super accurate boot. Very impressive he could land goals from anywhere considering all the work he did in the second row
