Would be good to see the nations at least collaborate on these games. If Fiji are going to pick all local players at least give some Under 18's and QLD/NSW Cup players a run for Australia.

26-4 @ halftime is a pretty decent effort for a side of amature players vs nearly a full professional rep side.

Considering how poorly they started as well, to have held the score to 26 - 4 is even more impressive. Admittedly Australia is showing a lack of respect to the opposition in some of the decisions they're making (hopefully they'll bring this attitude to the Tests and Nines), but fair play to the Fijians, they are really trying.

Crowd is super ordinary, even with was lowered expectations. Might be only a few thousand.

We do ourselves no favours, firstly we leave promoting and selling a game to an organisation which arguably have zero experience in ever drawing a decent crowd to a game in the FNRL (a body made up mainly volunteers and people use to coordinating RL competitions, not promoting games).

Secondly we set the game up as a mismatch of Professionals vs Amateurs, and finally, we play it on a Friday night.

I'm sure playing this on a Saturday or Sunday would have at least helped draw a larger crowd, and same if there had been at least 1 or 2 Fijian NRL players join the squad.
