2020 Membership

Eels have a great membership offer of one free child GA membership with every adult GA membership. I reckon it will sell like hot cakes.

Exactly, do whatever you can to fill it and make it a fortress again in 2020.

So 14 January 2019 the Eels where approaching the 20k mark for memberships.

In December 2019 we have passed the 20k mark. (nearly 2months ahead of schedule.)

That deal is paying off big time.

Looks like we might be the first club to sell all available memberships at Bankwest.

Imagine Bankwest did Reciprocal rights for Tigers/Souths/Dogs games. Would be close to sellouts against the Eels.

If we are serious about growing memberships and crowds we need to look at enticing larger numbers of away fans to games.

Currently away fans pay top price for tickets at other teams grounds, even if season ticket holders.

Season ticket holders are invested. Give them cheap access to tickets at other grounds and they'll come. 50% discounts, buy a full price adult ticket, take a child or two for free. That sort of thing. Especially at Homebush , the SCG, Bankwest, AAMI etc

Penrith now reporting. Given Brisbane will no doubt be around 20k+ numbers look reasonably similar to last year but we still won't know til we have all clubs switched on.
Good effort from Manly nearly 25% up on where we were same time last year. I know the clubs aiming to break 15k for the year which would be great.
The new centre of excellence and stand is hopefully the start of an overall increase in members and match goers ( our promising young team helps) after it's completed. As brookvake currently is, no team could average more then 14-15k at best throughout the year with all the restrictions and issues.

NRL fans don’t have the membership culture.
What do the clubs to to switch that around

sweet F A

without a breakdown of ticketed, part ticketed and full ticketed numbers it’s hard to say if the clubs are improving things. Memberships overall might be same but if they are moving people to full ticketed then it’s success. Wish we had useful data so we could see what’s really happening.

yes, the ticketed membership is interesting. It’s hard to get the figures but bums on seats would suggest that they are under performing

pits hardly value for money being a season ticket holder. Clubs need to address this

some clubs certainly do it better than others with the value and offers. With games being spread over different days it is hard to get full value by attending them all every week.
Eels with their free child GA and storm with the way you can use unused tickets are good examples of some creativity.

the game need to trade better off the large number of clubs in Sydney and offer reciprocal deals for members of the away club, say 50% of the game day ticket.

Essendon have included local away games by default in 2020, GA membership went up $40 but can’t complain given there’s a bonus 7 games in there. Would make plenty of sense for Sydney NRL clubs to do something similar.

I see it’s about $2000 for a family......holy crap. Who can afford that

I quoted azza in my post re Essendon and I said a family package.

it’s quite clear, you nark:p

if it wasn’t clear to you, there is a nicer way to clarify that.....isn’t there?
the post also mentioned Sydney NRL clubs so I don't think it was clear.

Even then a "family package" isn't quite clear either.

I decided to go on to the Essendon website and navigated to their family memberships page.

The "$2,000 for a family" is very clearly for reserved seating and the higher end, at that.

General admission family packages (which is what was being discussed) can be access for as little as 555 for a full season, which isn't really that exorbitant, to be honest - particularly considering you get access to Melbourne-based away games as well.

Perfect, and exactly what should be on offer in Sydney.
