I support St George in all forms they play in as as an entity of their own.
If St G were playing IS in SG Ball I certainly wouldn’t be cheering for anyone other than St George.
St George do not have a singular entity in the NRL they have an entity that includes Illawarra so due to a severe lack of options I support StGI but that IMO is a different entity to the St George entity or brand as I know or knew it.
So that's a yes. Therefore, it's not a massive leap to celebrate as a St George supporter in 2010. Just as the members and supporters at the Leagues Club did.

And I do believe Benny is wearing a 'Saints' scarf.

At the end of the day. I know I support St George, that's all that matters. People sometimes try to say otherwise, usually opposition supporters looking for a bite. But it's really none of their business.

Yes they do. It’s called the Dragons.

Or are you saying they have more than one team in the comp? If so I’m guessing they secretly fund the sharks.

I wasn’t saying anything about OT’s post.

He was discredited by others.

I didn’t feel the need to pile on.
Cause you know technically I am right.... as OT said no player had ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA on there jersey before 1998. So it’s pretty simple the Joint Venture started in 1998 I don’t have to spell the rest out surely

Your spelling isn’t in question..

But you should probably do something about your grammar and chronology..

Yeah, nah.

I think the great (and late) Graeme Langlands once summed it up best. When asked for this thoughts on the JV, he reportedly said he didn’t understand the difference because as far as he was concerned, St. George was always a part of the Illawarra and vice versa.

I think you need understand the legal ramifications of what constitutes a JV. There plenty of resource material available.

Still is a JV, only now it is between St George and WIN - well documented that WIN bought out the Steelers share and paid out their debt to St George.

Originally the two parties (St George and Illawarra) reviewed it about once every 5 years. This doesn't happen in a merger.

It it really still a JV or a business partnership? Are these terms interchangeable unlike a JV/merger?

Do you have a full copy of the terms re the JV so as to validate the notion that you assert that all things St George pre JV are now all things St GI?

And I can find sources to counter that, including the Wikipedia source you are using (but for some reason refuse to link to). Look to my previous posts and my sig file.

Here's the thing, you and Red73V don't decide how others choose to support their team This absurd notion that you know the ONLY TRUTH (caps are for Redv73's benefit) lacks reason. It's a shame that your obvious taste for argument with certain forum members has influenced your thought patterns to the point that you must disagree with pretty much everything they say, even if it is to sell out your own club's heritage.

Think what you like - if you see everything as black-and-white and naught in between, then good for you. But others are entitled to disagree, and there's nothing you can do about that.
