Why are the panthers all of a sudden so good?

So it's that 2019 panthers underachieved, not that the 2020 panthers are overachieving in the Covid Cup
It was not a happy camp last year. One player stood down all year, several others left mid-contract meaning rookies came in. This year they are all singing Kumbaya. The rookies have turned out quite well and the weak spots, mainly the 9, have been fixed.

If you want see a soft draw look no further then the sharks in 2020.

Yes we had the softest draw. We also had injuries, drugs, poachers. And an old and unbalanced side on the slide. Couldn't capitalise on it.

Still panthers rise from previous years is inexplicable. Finishing bottom of the top 8 a couple of times in the the last 5 years does not normally indicate a premiership threat

Tigers had less travel. How many top 8 sides did Sharks play? I remember the draw getting ranked post Covid and teams having so called softer draws then us
Yes... and the Sharks were pretty crap, tigers even worse.... Panthers are very good and have been in a position to take full advantage. That’s the point....

Well aside from centre. Going into a grand final and we are looking at starting our utility at centre.

We f**ked up our chance to improve centre. Burton should have gotten a chance and if May was being considered so high up the pecking order he should have spent more time at centre in regular season

Its our only really obvious issue this season.

But if the soft draw and travel makes teams good then why didn't those teams go better?

Seems we hurt the Roosters chances but they left their mark on us as well.

Do you gimps have some sort of inferiority complex - everyone has said they’re a very good team AND benefitted from a number of other factors.....

These poor Pennies, Sunday is going to be a let down either way. They either get beat by the Storm, or win it, but have an empty feeling that their win is hollow or not quite a legitimate Premiership....

Ok yeah I guess it must be COVID then lol you dumb merkin. I wonder why the raiders went from 10th in 2018 to the gf last season? Was it their soft draw and lack of travel? Or was it covid? Here’s an idea, maybe they just worked hard and made a few roster changes and improved.

Our rise is inexplicable, what a joke. It’s only inexplicable if you have your head up your ass.

do you want to start another thread and compare teams?

The thread title is "why are the Panthers so good all of a sudden"

The simple answer lies in a wonderful draw requiring minimum travel compared to many teams in the comp- its a dream draw and another possibility is very few major injury setbacks compared to many teams.

So what you’re saying is that a team that’s had minimal injuries is an unfair advantage to the rest of the competition?

If that’s the case, should Penrith sack their injury rehabilitation team to make it fair for the rest of the NRL?
