2nd Test: Australia v India at MCG Dec 26-30 2020

So to me..

Umpires decision is not out
The ball didn’t deviate
Nothing on hotspot and from a big swipe of the bat
A noise on snicko after the ball passes the bat, not a sharp noise nor at the time the ball is alongside the bat..

Yet it was overturned..

I think the game is beyond us anyway but that is the nail in the coffin.

Surely you’d need evidence from both snicko and hotspot to overturn a not out from the umpire..

He actually has some credits in the bank, to be fair. Head is just mediocrity personified. India will be bloody hard to stop in this series now, unless Warner comes back and clicks immediately, the batting is absolutely threadbare

Head's also got a pineapple from the selectors. He's a number six batting five, with a failing top four....who was once a white ball specialist and now forgotten in that format, but now they think he's a test specialist.

Head for me is a good number six, aggressive and can score big. He does average 40-odd.

Stop picking an all rounder unless it's needed, and they can bat five. Get a proper batsman in the middle order, stop playing three number six bats (Wade, Green, Head). Two openers, four batsmen, a wicket keeper. Head and Labs can bowl 15 handy at worst overs. Then if it's a really lame track, pick the all rounder in place of Head or the 5.

Like who?

Green has been one of if not the best performer at Shield level based on his batting alone. He deserved selection. I don't believe in there being batsman set to fill a set position in the middle order, because you can't limit yourself like that as a batsman - if you look at our history, it's generally always been a transient position, a stepping stone, used to bed in someone new or to play the young guy.

This is the best we have, and they apart from a handful of them they f**king suck.

Head needs to be replaced by Pucevski and Burns by Warner. Get Wade to keep and open. Drop Paine. Bring in another batsman at 7. Green could be dumped as well. Make Steve Smith the captain as it brings the best out in him.

Head is good enough, he just needs to learn that you don't have to hit every ball. Has a serious desire to feel bat on ball all the time. That was an unnecessary shot
Everyone that you think is good enough - Head, Paine, Burns - is absolutely not.

I can only assume that you're peak trolling by sticking up for these donkeys.

If you look at our history we had blokes who never played Test cricket who would play 100 matches in the current era, so I don't think our inability to adapt to our playing stocks is a positive thing. We need to think about roles more in the lineup because we don't have six best in the world bats plus a generational batting talent keeping wicket.

I'd pick Khawaja, but Langer obvs won't.

If Burns was in form you could go Pucovski at 5. Tbh there's no reason Green can't play 5 if they insist on picking him, he bats top order for WA...but right now he looks totally incapable of finding a way to score at this level and I reckon needs more work.

Serious question... is Labuschange more Smith or more Voges?

lots of guys have stellar 12 mths, have people gotten carried away?
No disrespect because I love the NZ side but he slammed around some pretty ordinary bowling last summer and that’s been about it for him.

Can't say the opinion of an Englishman worries me much, to be fair.

The days of an entire top 7 averaging 50 are long gone. We make do with what we have
