Now that this is over can we hold UEFA to account, please? This 2024 nonsense is just as bad as the ESL.

UEFA's greed began the whole situation. Third place in England walks into the 'Champions' League while Scottish Champions have to go through qualifying because they value Arsenal and City over clubs like Celtic that have actually won a European Cup.

The main difference between UEFA and the Euro SL is UEFA being cut out.

At least with UEFA that is a chance you can improve them for the betterment of the sport
When the money is controlled by privately held clubs then the money is going to go to shareholders, with a bit to players, staff and maybe some investment in ground improvements

UEFA are just as guilty as the clubs of being greedy. They don't care about the poorer nations, it's why they make it easier for 3rd place in England to qualify ahead of 1st place in Scotland. They don't care about the betterment of the sport, only the betterment of their value and it has left traditionally strong clubs in small markets behind as a result, creating a gulf between the 'top 4' leagues and the rest. It's why the alterations to qualifying make it even easier for also rans in the top leagues to qualify than actual champions.

Who do you think is more likely to help smaller nations - UEFA or Glazer?

To be fair.... I’d probably back the 3rd, 4th and probably 5th place team in the EPL to beat the old firm in a two leg playoff.

Not that it makes it right or fair... but you have to balance whether having the 3rd place EPL team is more appealing and actually more competitive than having the SPL champions.

TBF, the whole EPL would beat Celtic and Rangers. Scottish football is horrible.

That is true today though as recent as the 90's it was a lot closer. Since then UEFA has heavily favoured the rich. And from a business point of view that makes perfect sense for UEFA.

But to cry victim when the clubs that UEFA had a hand in building up want to break away couldn't be further from the truth.

As in after their contracts or control of transfer fees
The next few transfer windows should see the transfer fees decrease if clubs seriously want to control spending

They may not have much choice I guess, as with no crowds they dont have the funds yet players will still want to move on.

Expect a lot of loans initially.

One way to fix the problem is to castrate player agents, their greed is one of the biggest problems imo.
