Don't be so sure. Tigers got carved primarily on the edges. Yes our Defence is far far better but it has vulnerabilities. Capewell has been dropping off tackles regularly and the Luai/Kikau edge at times gets cracked - though they are generally good. Martin when he comes on can also be a little loose.

Manly are on fire and this game will be our biggest test since the Storm. Other than them what we faced so far this year has been rubbish and against some of those rubbish teams we weren't so convincing.

I'll be interested to see how we handle Tom. He is close to the best player in the competition right now. Burton/Crichton will get challenged at some point.

They didn't just beat GC and Wests, they destroyed them in a way you'd expect from a very good team.

Like you I think we'll get home. Their defence won't get the kind of relief that naturally comes from putting 40 on. But this isn't the same team we played a month ago. Turbo alone gives us much more to worry about defensively and their general morale/attitude will be light years from what it was. Realist is right, this should be a real test.

They had 53% of the ball v GC and still missed 30 tackles. GC missed 23.
Again yesterday they had 14 errors to WT 9.

That is the difference between mid table and top teams right there. 1 or 2 individual performances can get you home against mid sides whereas v top you need to do everything right

2 or 3 shit teams will make the 8. You guys are every chance of being one if Tom Turbo stays fit. Not sure if like GC or Newcastle you guys can compete with the top 5 of the comp.

Young Panthers winger Brian To’o is set to steal the crown from Roger Tuivasa-Sheck as the NRL’s biggest metre-eater. While his insane form has helped Penrith win seven straight this season, it could also cause coach Ivan Cleary some headaches come State of Origin time.

Tuivasa-Sheck averaged 215 running metres per game in 2015 — the most on record since Fox Sports Lab started collecting such statistics. However, 22-year-old Panthers winger Brian To’o is currently averaging 232 running metres per game and if he can keep up the same mammoth efforts we’ve seen every round so far this season, he’ll no doubt surpass Tuivasa-Sheck’s record.

To’o shone in Penrith’s win last week, finishing with 246 run metres. He then stunned the league world by going to another level on Thursday night, racking up an astonishing career-high 290 metres against the Knights.

Last week Panthers coach Ivan Cleary threw his support behind the workhorse winger for a State of Origin debut.

Now Cleary has conceded his team is going to look very different come Origin time given just how in-form his star players are. Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Kurt Capewell all played Origin last season, while Jarome Luai and Stephen Crichton were also included in NSW’s extended squad. But Origin was at the end of last season so it didn’t have any impact on Penrith’s premiership campaign.

This year, Origin returns to mid-season and will see heavyweights like the Storm, Roosters and the Panthers lose their best players.

Incumbent halfback Cleary will once again wear the Blues’ No.7 jersey, while his Panthers halves partner Luai should come into serious contention for an Origin debut. Isaah Yeo should hold his spot in the NSW squad and Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o will be pushing for debuts also. Meanwhile, utility Kurt Capewell will be called up to play for Queensland after emerging as a Maroons hero after last year’s series.

We face Tigers before Origin 1 and that side is probably good enough to match them at their best currently. Although it wouldn't have much cohesion and that would be the area it suffers in. But id back us as 50/50 in that game.
