Agree, personnel changes badly needed, bring in Makatoa and/or Hollis on bench and an injection of speed. Peninisi for Opacic, Niudruki/Russell for Sivo and Fergo back. Don't hold your breath waiting for BA to be proactive tho.

Injuries and personal life are two reasons Foran may be past it.
DCE has not had to deal with that. But he does have a mounted head to be fair.

This side was built under different rules and a different style of footy. It was much slower and demanded power rather than speed and fitness, which is what the current rules require. You'd remember all the experts here were demanding huge forwards. Those huge forwards are now a liability in defence, and need to play shorter minutes, which requires suitable interchange players.

Storm and Manly have huge forwards and they're not doing too badly.

We compress too much and leave our edges exposed. I thought Dunster was far too close to his centre and Souths, and other teams, expose our edges too easily.

We need to lay on tackled players longer, imo we get off far too early, ptb's quicker, more dummy half running, offloading when the defender is engaged, more support for the ball runner, more decoy runs and less one out running particularly when coming off our line. All simple stuff most of which our team does not do.

Very difficult to judge players playing within different systems. Its why nuffys turn into great players at The Storm.

New staff need a voice. They need to be listened too. Has our D changed a great deal from Gentle to Kidwell? I reckon the buck stops with the Head Coach and he dictates the process. Its not as if anyone is knocking on Kidwells or Murphys doors so why rock the boat only to apply for Newstart? Our HOF should have at least an equal voice where team is concerned. Lets face it. He will also be judged by the teams success or lack there of.

I reckon we bring Jorge Taufua in next year. Defensively strong and good carries out of our end. We're really struggling with our edge defence and bringing in a defensive specialist like Taufua should fix that.

No I'm comparing one year in the finals by one coach to two years in the finals by our coach. While we're there we can compare Robinson's six wins in 2016 to Arthur's six wins in 2018. But but but Robinson won multiple premierships. If he's so good why did his team play so shit? It's either the coach's fault or it isn't.

When have we ever had a coach the good clubs wanted? We lost Ricky Stuart to f**ken Canberra ffs! No chance the Roosters or Storm would poach a head coach from Parra. Here's our list of coaches since Gibson:

There was a little bit of demand for Smith and Taylor but they didn't have long careers after leaving us. Stuart has done the best, winning almost as many games as Arthur, but he is at a mid-tier club, which is Parramatta's tier. To claim we're any higher than that isn't supported by the calibre of coaches we've had since our last premiership. A few of them won premierships, but that says more about the relative importance of the head coach to a team's success than it does about the coaching ability of Monie, Hagan or Stuart. I believe Brad Arthur is as good as them, by which I mean he is solid, but non-elite. To call him a bush coach is incredibly disrespectful.
Because I don't understand the game and you find it amusing that I think I do? That's very hurtful.
