So why sign him?? Pretty simple, we want to play effort areas and chasing the collision’s he’d be the last sort of bloke you’d sign.

cos he was cheap and something we didn't already have

don't get me wrong - I agree it seems like he has been under utilised .... I've been wanting Papa to get some bench time for months and Carty on the edge is aprt of that

but, no one in their right mind would have wanted carty to still be what he was at the titans - ie soft as crap

I’m not saying him playing soft as crap is acceptable, but I don’t think in any of his games he’s been like that this year. But he is a rocks and diamonds player so sometimes you take the good with the bad. He will make mistakes but stopping him playing expansive footy is a waste of time.

And benching him or putting him on reserve grade when he does is just dumb, it’s not like we didn’t know what we were getting.

Having cheapies is awesome. But what’s his role? He plays 6 minutes, to small to be a forward, not talented to be half and not mobile to be a back. Won’t get better and is taking up a spot
