I’d have Oozie in a heart beat if the other options are Plodders like Harris or an absolute potato like Wade.

id assume Warner, Pucovski and Burns will be the openers to pick from, though Burns needs to pull his finger out

Hopefully Will will be ok. Still a good 6-7 weeks before the first test

Another draw. Adelaide Oval had two faces. Good for the ball first two days.. good for bat last two.
Cherry picking and neglectfulness at its finest
Where am I cherry picking?
he couldn't do anything as our senior batsman against India when we needed him the most
Ok you are referring to the previous Indian 18/19 tour. I should have known you knew your facts before posting. For that I do apologise. Perhaps next time so we dont have any uncertainty or confusion you include all salient details in your post.

In form Silk and his stand in skipper have stopped the rot after a late order collapse, as we head into the middle of the last session. Expected that Tassie will be well past the WA score by stumps.

Surely Alex Carey now needs to be picked for the Ashes. Has yet another 50 today and now averages around @55 in his past two and a bit shield seasons. He will probably slot into #5 but can he open against the ageless duo of Jimmy and Stuart.

This is the big story in red ball cricket. Some salient points included.

Let us hope back spasms do not translate to back stress fractures. Fingers crossed for Jhye.

If our main 3 are fit, probably doesn’t get a test anyway

Steketee may be a bolter as backup if Jhy not right

At this stage Pucovski isn't even in the same universe as the Test team and should be long odds to ever play again.

If Uzi isn't in the mix they're taking the piss.

Only played 3 Shield games last season. Not sure in the discussion as a bat only. Probably needs to do a bit more, more often. Though anything happens with Paine this summer, he should be next in line for the keepers job

Inglis averaged over 70, played 8 games last season. Being picked in the shorter form tours could lead into test selection? Travis Head killed it last year in Shield (so did like 20 blokes) and continues to perform this year. No question pick guys who are doing well this summer in Shield, but we also need to keep an eye on the Indian tour.

Only because he was playing white ball for his country did he play only 3 shield games. So was still scoring runs and being match fit. Those shield games too were played at the end of the season. 299 @59. From his only games this season he is averaging @67 with a pair of 50s in each match. I know you have a hate on this bloke for some reason. but he has done his time as Tim's apprentice. Time now for CA to promote him to our next Test keeper. Being a consistent red ball batsman also means he can bat in the top six.. giving us the option of playing another batsman or bowler. That is always a big advantage.

Last two days of this match will be hit by poor weather. Shame as it was shaping up as an exciting contest. Rain still killing cricket here in the 21st century. When is someone going to rid us of rain spoiled cricket by covering grounds, allowing lite and other atmospheric conditions but blocking out rain. We have all been frustrated to distraction when we have spent our hard earned to watch a day's cricket and then find that poor weather has called an end to it.

Need a dome to cover all grounds so we don't miss out on white ball or red ball cricket.
How is a dome any different to Docklands Stadium with its retractable roof. That was tried and eventually dumped probably because it had no natural atmospheric conditions when the roof was closed.
Thinking more of a transparent sailcloth material stretched from one stadium to another. Be far cheaper than anything else devised.

wtf you on about?? Wheres you salient points to prove this ??

fmd All I said is he needs to do a bit more with the bat to be considered in the top 6 as a bat only

No issues him being the next keeper. Would prefer him over Paine tbh, but that aint happening
