Kaufusi has had about 6 or 7 concussions already in his short career. He basically couldn't play in the finals because the club didnt want to risk him getting another one before the off-season.

Disappointing but i am looking forward to big Davey Hollis breaking through next year.

Finished work today so beering on the couch (no pub this close to Covid according to wife) and watching 77 GF Parra V StGeorge.
Now I’m not great with these old games but my take is… we over glorify it. The thuggery and cheap shot game I’m watching isn’t something to be proud of. In fact, it’s unnecessarily brutal.

As disappointing as it is I can’t fault the club for losing Kafusi. He’s not worth the money the Sharks are prepared to shell out for a fringe bench player. He would also be stuck behind RCG and Paulo for the next few years so he was never going to be a starting prop for us unless injuries hit.

Re Kafusi, he’s a good player but obviously not better than Junior or RCG are at the moment or in the coming few years. No doubt Kafusi will be a good consistent first grade forward but at the moment he’s no superstar and this is where the club needs to be smart with their money. If he’s getting 400-500k a year elsewhere he’d be stupid not to take it.

when Junior Paulo came on to the seen you could tell he was going to be a top prop. And if Kafusi had shown anywhere the potential of Junior had I’d be saying he needs to be re-signed. Just like Mahoney I will not be devastated if kafusi goes.
