From what I've read on To'a he is a talent but is also lazy and not a good trainer. Everyone says Madge will whip that out of him. It may happen, it may not but to think others haven't tried and that Madge will definitely him into a star is foolish. You can lead a horse to water and all that

Madge might have helped recruit him, but I think it basically falls upon Tim and coaching understaff to get the application side into his head.

Who knows if he is lazy. There was one random quote on some social media from some Newcastle journo. He looks good running the footy.

Confirming/following up on what @Vic Mackey said a week or so back?

KEPAOA SUFFERS ANOTHER SETBACK

Wests Tigers outside back Asu Kepaoa has suffered another setback, tearing for his pectoral muscle at training this week.

The 21-year-old returned to pre-season after rupturing his ACL in the Tigers’ round six clash against the Rabbitohs in 2021.

But now he has undergone surgery and specialists have conceded that the best outcome would be a three-month recovery, meaning the earliest he could return to the field would be round eight according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

His recovery period could extend to four months depending on rehabilitation.

Kepaoa had been training in the centres and was looking likely to start for the merger club in round one, before suffering what is believed to be a partial tear.

The Tigers are already missing Adam Doueihi and Tommy Talau, both suffering ACL injuries but have added a number of outside backs to their roster.

Starford Toa joined the club from Newcastle earlier this month, while junior Wallaby Junior Tupou, English centre Oliver Gildart and utility Tyrone Peachey could all be utilised in the centres.

I see Tuki Simpkins is in trouble as well. Will probably cop some sort of suspension. The season is really shaping up well for us.

That's a bugger. I don't know how but I was hoping somehow Tuki could save us from Tamou. Clutching at straws I know but I'm desperate.

I think this is what we will see come round 1:

1. Laurie
2. Nofa
3. Gidart
4. Starford
5. Maumalo
6. Hastings
7. Brooks
8. Tamou
9. Liddle
10. Stefano
11. Blore
12. Luciano
13. Peachy

14. Twal
15. Mikale
16. Seyfarth
17. J. Simpkin
This is likely accurate.
Massive concerns with the centres and backrowers + Mikalae is a pillow.
Luckily we are playing a depleted Melbourne Storm.

Our squad really doesn't inspire a huge amount of confidence does it. I think it would actually be more prudent to start Twal and Tamou with Stefano coming off the bench and playing long minutes to replace Tamou. Tamou should realistically start on bench but until we find a new captain we have to persist with him starting.

What I am excited for though is Laurie, Stefano and Blore. These guys could be anything - sky is the limit. If we see a big year from these three then the nucleus of our team will really start to form when Api and Papali'i come on board next year.

Wanna know something crazy? Guess what these 5 players have in common - Musgrove, Nofoaluma, J. Simpkin, Twal, Junior Tupou.

They are the only players whos are signed beyond 2023.

It's going to be a f**king circus this year...right up until the 22-23 off season. Journos are going to blow their loads at the bullshit stories they will be able to come up with

Not sure what your point is? There is plenty of time to re-sign who they want to keep?

IMO, we have waited a long time to be in this position, it wont stop the journo’s bullshit, but as long a we get who we want, it won’t matter.

Pretty sure as the first half of season progresses there will be enough re-signings happening. Players will have to show their worth to the club by performing not words. I'm actually starting to have a bit of faith that the club might just have turned the corner.

There’s still a lot of variables at play.

A good coaching effort and related support will have a far reaching effect of the field.

This is what Melbourne do etc.

That’s probably the most important change for us this year. Our assistants have very good reputations and the boys have talked them up so far.

Nofo said they are doing things they’ve never done.

“ Like training” I thought to myself.

That’s ambitious!

Nofo needs a new make up artist or stylist by the looks of things.

His eyebrow liner wasn’t quite right.

I hate to say it, but he’s only in the side these days for his good looks. If he breaks his nose, he’s up for a swap.

Sure he gets the ball only once every three games or something, but ffs Nofo, if by some miracle you catch it, do something with it!
