think he is 20 this year. Played a NRL game last year as an 18th man (only a couple of minutes). And was on a top 30 contract with the roosters.

Russell is Gutho’s backup. After that it’d be Perham or Simonsson. Just like backup hookers and wingers in years gone by, your 3rd/4th/5th string options aren’t going to be of significant quality. Alternatively some situations may allow for Moses/Drown to go there instead

Russell has almost as much NRL experience as Jrthur? And doesn’t require moving halves. And to the nepotism frothers, given BA’s bench use and comments, do you truly believe if Russell wasn’t injured, Jrthur takes field?
Round 1 line up, injury in game to Gutho, would 100% be Russell to fullback, Waqa to wing, Drown to centre, Jrthur to halves. Then next game would be Russell at fullback, Blake to wing & Opacic to centre.

Is Russell a starting back any more than Arthur is a starting half? JA has started more games than Russell. Russell has only started when there have been injuries (3 times). Arthur has also only started when there are injuries (7 times).
