There were some positives from the game:

1. Melb didnt score 50
2. JDB scores his first try for 3yrs
3. Fui didnt get sent off
4. Moose wasn't put on report
5. Gough could only find 11 penalties against us

In all seriousness we were well in the game up until the Bird brain explosion with 9 mins to go to half time, sort of took the air out of the balloon so to speak. We are also unorganised in attack around the 20m zone, something Hunt needs to control better.

There used to be a guy on this forum known as Dino. He was always on about the need for speed and plenty of it. He used to get a bit of flack four or five years ago. But he was spot on. Where would our top speedster finish in a 100 meter dash against the fastest in the other sides?
We had speed. We had Dufty, Field, Saab, Garrick. Frizzel and McInnis in the forwards. We let them all go. A common complaint at the time was we need more big boppers. We've got them, and it hasn't helped. What we haven't had is coaches who can formulate a game plan that gets the best out of the resources we've got.

Sloan/Amone/Sullivan spine
Where do we play Amone in that threesome. He is not a ball player. Be better used in the three quarters. Sloan is the most skilfull of the three imo, so either he or Mbye are my 5/8 choice. Ramsay perhaps at the back. Griffin wont move the skipper to hooker so we are stuck with the Mac the tortoise there. But he really needs to take a close look at our current spluttering spine.

Yep agree, to me it looked as though we may have been in it, but storm had 2 disallowed try's and bombed another in the first half, we couldnt go with them when it mattered, and we capitulated in the end.

I can understand the deflated feeling that most of us are experiencing today after the whitewash the Storm inflicted on us yesterday and that we all want answers as to why we are not very competitive but we have to remember that we played the Storm.

We did win three in a row against some formidable teams but I don't think that we expected to beat the Storm with several of us saying that they would beat us 30 or 40+. We unfortunately were unable to come up with the right tactics that either got us a win or a closer game. The stats show that we haven't beaten the Storm in Melbourne for years and years so how were we expecting to change things?

We compared their players and coach against ours before the game and it was obvious that there was no comparison so a win by us wasn't on the cards. We were hoping for a win for sure like we always do, but to beat a team that has maintained top of the ladder status for a couple of decades was never going to happen in my opinion.

So, we can look forward to playing lesser teams like the Titans, Warriors and Bulldogs in the next few games, although they will be challenging, they won't be as challenging as compared to playing a team like the Storm. When we lose to the lesser lights then we will definitely have cause to lose our blocks.

We do have continuing problems that have been with us for 10 years and I just hope that they will be sorted out one day. A lot of us has expounded on why we are this way and several of us have answers. We just have to bide our time because what can we do to change the way the club is operating and what they decide who should coach the club and the players they should go for? We can complain to get things off our chest but that's all we can do.

None of those three wins were against formidable sides. Roosters perhaps another level. The simple fact is we were never going to be able to match it with the Storm because with the spine Griffin keeps picking we lack the creativity needed to arm wrestle with a champ team like them.

Just watched the press conference with Griffin bumbling over his words, making excuses by saying that we had the team to get back into the contest at the break. No we dont coach not with you at the helm. You are paid $300,00 because that is all you are worth. You play favorites and that is a coach's death knell. IMO you are our worst coach since Price.

Potentially yes, I don't rate him any better than the last bloke though.
Basically a QLD version of Mehry....we've made zero progress basically.

Theres 2 types of big boppers.....theres "biguns" and "whoppers"....... in our team the bigun types are your mobile, agile enthusiast go forward players like SuA and Molo unfortunately the whoppers like Woods and Burgess are useless the way the game is played today.......its true what you say re we had speed but we still have some speed its just that our blokes that posses it are either not playing in 1st grade or are playing but just dont get enough early ball....and that gets back to our structure and lack of a decent game plan

He is the regular hooker in our reserve to top grade side. He was the leading defensive hooker in reggies last time I looked, so why isnt he in our Top 30.
The exceptional Coaches in the NRL know how to adapt to match situations and look to solutions that may help in the Future
Was surprised/disappointed Hook didnt switch Hunt to Hooker , and let Sullivan/Amone run the side from from 6 and 7 against the Storm , once the match was gone ..
The safety first/no risk process just doesn't cut it today
