Eels attack after ten rounds

Marata / Blake were starting at edge/centre late last year when our defence looked better. Additionally we had 2 specialist wingers…..

Is that the missing link in our defence? Maybe / maybe not…but I don’t think Papa defends as good as Marata on the edge….

Don’t disagree about being better in the opposition 20. Would turn us from a very good attacking team into a great one.

However, our current attack would be more than sufficient if we could get our defence sorted. Letting in far too many soft tries this year.

A very well thought out post that just makes sense.
You know what you've done here? Made a very good statement.

if only we had enough space in our cap for a quality forward pack, as well as a top quality back line.
There’s nothing wrong with our backline. It’s really good. A lot of teams would love to have the likes of Gutherson, Sivo, Penisini, Blake, Brown and Moses in their backline.

f**k, we only have 6 backs. No wonder we get scored against down the edge so often!!

If you hear that we have 6 backs
You don't ask where the 7th was
You don't ask me
You don't ask me
Anymore

"A lot of teams" are below us on the ladder. Are those the ones you're talking about?
I was responding to the insinuation that we don’t have a top quality backline because our cap in tied up in the forwards. Our backline players wouldn’t look out of place in teams above us either. Gutherson would look fine ahead of Dylan Edwards at Penrith and I’m sure the Storm would rather have Penisini, Blake/Sivo ahead of the likes of Meaney, Seve and George Jennings.

When I hear that song I imagine a pretty girl living next door wanting to make love. Unfortunately my neighbours are married

Well that’s how the cap works. You can’t have everything.

One out of seven?

At full strength only one of those three starts in their team: Coates/Olam/Smith, so you’d hope one of our outside backs is better than their worst starter.

Without doing a like for like comparison I’m saying that most of our backline players could get a start even if they played for the top sides and they’re certainly better than some of the role players the Storm have to carry (i.e Smith and Meaney).

Reimis Smith is a good player. Certainly better than three of the four outside backs we fielded against the Roosters. Meaney is better than Perham. I think you seriously overrate our players.

I think it was pretty clearly established a few weeks ago that our squad is awesome and the only issue we have that is stopping us from being the best team in the comp is our coaching staff and the fact that we don't do hundreds of repeat attacking moves at training (not that I am sure why such an awesome squad even needs to be taught how to attack).

It really is time for you get with the program or hang up you're keyboard dude.
