Loved the title Clinton schifcofske cup he was my first ever favourite eels player in my first year or 2 watching the Eels.

A shame he left I suppose behind Hodgson and Burt in 2001 there was no room for him.

That team should blow apart the Raiders I like Niukore starting on the edge. We play better and defend better when he's there. The only thing I would change is have Matto start and have Papa on the bench.

He was in great form before his injury, we definitely missed him for his metres and under the high ball.

Starting to get our strongest side on the field and IMHO it is looking pretty good.
When you see some of the names and their positions, you can see the actual team starting to take shape that BA wants each week and hasn't been able to select.

Powerful forwards in the run-on side, a fair bit of impact off the bench so not much momentum is lost and backs who can help with the hard yards and have a bit of speed.

Sivo in for Opa with Blake moving to centres and all of a sudden its a different side to when it was apparently picked just to accommodate JA.

I'm not so sure Opacic will lose his spot to accommodate Sivo or Russell.

He was better than both at fullback. Specialist fullback who Smith kept interchanging with Burt on the wing and never allowed to settle. Went to Canberra as a fullback only, and excelled.

I would agree up until about 3-4 weeks ago, however I think Simonsson is starting to find his place at the end of our backline. Sure he has had some misses in defence but that seems to be the norm for our wingers and I won't be crucifying him for letting Turbo get the better of him a couple of times. Generally though his defense has improved and his kick-returns and general attack is now starting to look good. He is no longer losing ground when tackled like he was in the first few rounds.

The thing that we get having him and Waqa in the team is more pace. I reckon Bailey is probably one of the fastest outside backs we have and so having Sivo with Waqa on the left gives us strength and speed and having Penisini and Simonsson on the right gives us guile and speed. If Penisini can beat his man and give Bailey a bit of space, I reckon we will see some nice tries down that right edge.

Whilst I don't think Opacic deserves to lose his spot, I think we are stronger with more speed than he can offer and as The Ram keeps reminding us, speed is everything.
