Hold on you got R Jennings as 1st grade yet hasn't played a nrl game this year at penrith, but Sean O'sullivan has won 4 of 4 in the most important position on the field but is a reserve grader?
you are trying to shit on the phins here?

Sean O'Sullivan is a 1st grader at any other club.. and while we are there Milford will be no.6, Sunia Turuva will be on the wing/fullback.
Fair enough, though Jennings has at least been a starter for periods of his career, O'sullivan has been a fill in wherever he's played.

Thats like saying andrew fafita is an exceptional 1st grade player, but in 2022 reserve grade quality, its all about current form

Apparently Dolphins have signed a player from Penrith Harold Matt’s team.. Geez there mustn’t be much Junior talent in QLD. As well as the other 3 players from SG Ball, things aren’t looking great for expansion…

Nice try. I guess that means that NSW clubs should stop poaching QLD talent as well

It's happening everywhere mate, if you've got a good one coming through and don't lock them down, they'll get poached

If Wayne was that good, he would be able to get local Juniors coming trough not poach other clubs best young talent. F—k Wayne and f—k the Dolphins.

You can’t keep them all and even if you could, how would that advantage the players in your lower grades if there’s no opportunity for them to progress to first grade? Take for example Katoa (can’t remember his first name). As a half, how is he going to break in to first grade when you have Luai and Cleary as your halves?

There mustn’t be any good ones up there if he is going to Penrith for all his players.

Did you whinge when the Panthers acquired Kikau from the Cowboys or Fisher Harris from NZ? Every club buys or recruits juniors from all over the place (or at least they should). That’s even more imperative when you give a club just over a year to get ready - where are they going to recruit their players if they are not allowed to buy players from other clubs?

Fisher Harris came thru the penrith system as a junior, he didn't get poached from the warriors, Kikau was in the cows system... just to clarify your examples.... kikau yes, Fish no

panthers signed two WA SG Ball jnrs (Blake and Rona) despite the biggest jnr region in the world. Cest le vie.
Yeah mate, where were those players going though with no First Grade team you flog.. Rona??? You sure..

Thers a big difference signing Juniors who are aligned with no First Grade team to Dolphins signing Juniors from Penrith.. Very much the same as Manly aligning themselves with Blacktown, that’s next door to them right?

It just seems to me teams who can’t produce shit in the Jubiors just come on down to Penrith..

Every club does it and your club has done it as well. As a fan of the Raiders, it has happened to us on numerous occasions. It happened to Newcastle back in 90’s when they had their golden generation. It has also happened to the Cowboys.

You’re not the only development club it has happened to and you won’t be the last. Think of the positives, you’re developing more talent than you need to: would you like to be in the opposite situation which you were in only what 5 to 10 years ago. Also, think of those players, why would they stay when there are limited opportunities to develop into first grade players at Penrith? They have an obligation to their career.

charming! Point still stands if Panthers was the bees knees they wouldn't be signing any jnrs from other places. Reality is in professional sport you sign the best talent you can, no one cares where the playing field was they played on as kids.

The Panthers said they had no issue with the Dolphins signing off-contract NRL top 30 players Robert Jennings and Sean O’Sullivan. However, Cameron took umbrage to the raid of their juniors.
“It’s a free market. We have no problem with the NRL boys,” he said.

“My disappointment is the need to go and get 18-year-old Katoa and Harry Hassett, 19-year-old Mason Teague and 17-year-old John Paul Donevski. The need to go and take those kids out of our junior league.
“Part of their submission would have been based around their capacity to develop juniors in their own area, so why do they feel the need to come and take our kids?
“This is also artificially inflating the market when it comes to signing other young players in our juniors.”
