He brings it on himself in my view.

He has no one but himself to blame.

The promotion of his son.

The use of only 15 players in a 17 man game.

The virtual ostracisation of Cartwright and Brown.

The running of a sheltered workshop by keeping a Neville nobody like Murphy for a decade.

I could go on.
He has his flaws but its ridiculous to suggest that the critricism of Parra is ever measured. Lay off the acorns, merkin...

Why does he deserve all the credit for that? It's a team game.

That's because we were a chance of beating Penrith and the Cowboys were a chance of losing to Cronulla. Now both those things haven't happened the odds have adjusted. Our chance of losing to Canberra has now been factored in while the Cowboys' next game is at home. They only have to win that and they are in the grand final. That's why their premiership odds are shorter.
I agree it’s a team game. I never said he deserves all the credit. He does deserve credit for the win against Melbourne just like he has to wear the blame for the losses. That’s part of being a coach as fair or unfair as it may seem.
I understand how odds work. I imagine we’ll be pretty close to the Cowboys in the premiership betting if we make it to week 3. Every club has their own standards for success. The Parramatta fan base has high expectations given we haven’t won a competition for a while. That’s why if we lose a lot of critics will see it as another missed year and another opportunity and they will be right.

Interested to know what knowledge you have of Steve Murphy's role in planning, preparing the team etc or are you just concluding that we haven't progressed past Wk 2 of the semis ipso facto he must be shit ?

@emjaycee says that after securing Trent, we are now on the market for a defence coach. So what does Murph do or not do that makes him a Neville Nobody in your eyes ?

What other coach in the NRL has had the same assistant coach for 9 seasons? None.

What other assistant coach has been at the same club for 9 seasons? None

Every other club (whether strong or not) has turned over all of their assistants in that time. How many assistants have the Roosters and Storm had in 9 years with the same head coach?

He should have been turned over long ago, but because he is a Neville Nobody, it is likely he can't get any sort of gig anywhere else, so he just keeps begging for a job here.

It appears that even when he is being replaced he will still get a gig here, primarily I'd say because we don't want him to be unemployed. No one else seems interested in him, why have we for so long?

LMAO I was right then. Strong opinion based on zero inside knowledge. Now he begs for his job annually and is actually unemployable ? OK then.

Well why is he the only assistant coach in the NRL to have been in the same job for 9 years? A comfort blanket for the Head Coach??
