Panthers dont fund the local community comps. They give them a bit of inkind office space and that's it. All they fund is their own elite pathways programs which benefits them as a business. Lets not pretend they are some philanthropic group throwing buckets of cash to help ten year olds who want to play RL lol.
Stop acting like you live in Whalan and sit on the panthers board. Only a fool, or a goose living 6000km away from Sydney, would believe that the panthers, or any NRL club don't put back into the community.

And I thought you wanted clubs to act like businesses? Yet if they do you criticise them.

haha, that came from the Panthers CEO. here's a rock, crawl back under it.

'There has been a suggestion that the Panthers have abandoned the Penrith and Districts Junior Rugby League and its 24 local clubs after withdrawing its annual $250,000 grant in 2019.

However, the club has provided about $355,000 in services (including office space, IT support and equipment, stadium usage, staff and events) free of charge since 2019.'

So even when it was giving out cash it was a pittance going to grassroots, like I said they arent some amazing community focused philanthropic group, nor should they be. they are a professional sports club focused on winning trophies.
People need to get over this notion that the NRL clubs are keeping grassroots RL afloat, its nonsense.

Which brings us back to the massive $25million plus hole that was in grassroots funding last year under Vlandys watch. Be interesting to see next month if that hole has been filled, and hopefully increased.

Um, did I mention financial input only.

Take your rock 🪨 back.

Im sure the local kids clubs that are struggling to pay for kit and insurance are over the moon at the free desks and laptops being given to the local division managers lol.
You do realise how big junior clubs in this area are don't you? Clubs like St Marys and St Clair can looks after themselves without any input from panthers.

Dude if its good enough for Origin, its good enough for a grand final. Especially a Storm Grand Final.
Biiger issue is whether the ground would even be available. Week after the AFL Grand Final is always booked in case of a draw.
MCG would is available first Sunday in October. No draws anymore - AFL does extra time in finals. If the Vic Govt gets a sniff of another major event, they will pay up. And there is a chance that the MCG will copy Optus’ ‘rectangular’ mode when the Warne Stand is rebuilt sometime within the next decade. MCG the home of Rugby League.

Seriously, surely the NSW Govt won’t fall for PVL’s hollow threat to move the GF. Zero chance of that ever happening, whether the Govt pays up or not. Pete is Sydney through and through.

Bro the first time the guy visited Sydney he caught a cab from the cbd to get to parra and complained about the cost and time (till someone said he could’ve got a train ticket for 5 bucks direct)

Sydney is just unfathomable to him

They won't get a new stadium but $15m a year to match other offers for the GF happens
