Speaking of great Aussie movies, I got around to watching Top Gun: Maverick last night. Decent action scenes but ffs. I believe the Hebrew peoples of New York would refer to it as schmaltzy.

That's a broad brush you're using. There's plenty of great Aussie movies, it's just a matter of genres and when they were made. Of course, personal taste is in there somewhere.

A movie remake of the documentary Hotel Coolgardie. I've watched the documentary but not the movie. I'll take your word on it.

It’s aged a bit that’s all. Animal Kingdom, Priscilla, Muriel’s Wedding and Two Hands are all my favourites.

If The Castle had been made in Sydney these days it would have been set in Badgerys Creek. I personally found the movie itself to be quite underwhelming. Thankfully, movies like Australia made it to be in good company. But in the end it's all down to personal taste.

Rudd, Gillard, Turnbull are already on the podium for worst ever.
