It's a shame he left, if he had scored the tries that our left wingers have scored since he left he would've been top 3 on the all time try scorers list, with the very likely chance pushing for 1st.

I don't think anyone had the ability that Semi had of scoring tries from anywhere on the field and did it as consistently as him.

To’o is the only one to come close impact wise, and he had been damn lucky to play in that Riff team. What would have Prime Semi done off a similar quality back line??
I think Radradra was superior to To’o in every way except go forward. Brian To’o is one of the best for PCM every single year, partly because he takes so many runs. Could Radradra have taken that many carries in a game without detracting from his performance? Dunno

Semi was a rare physical specimen who had elite speed, size and strength. Was mostly safe under the high ball. Was great coming off his own line to get the team out of trouble.

How many players have had comparable physical gifts? Not many. And the ones who have just don’t seem to use them effectively. Hayne had the physical gifts but also had more skill. Too bad he was a deadshit though.

He was excellent, but I think we tend to blow our loads a little.

Some phenomenal wingers have played the game over the last 15 years.
think he was worth nearly a try a game out of nothing which managed to cover for a few short-comings of the team

What wingers come to mind.

Brett Morris was a champion winger of our game.

I would have Semi but then i would take B-Moz as 2nd over most in the past 20 years.

His defence, speed, toughness, skill was something most wingers didnt have.

No one else stands out that were like Semi in the past 15-20 years.

I wonder what he gets paid the next 2 yrs? He would have to be on $1.2m if he was still in the NRL (based on Dylan Browns looney contract).

I think Semi is going to find out in a few years time that he is far better known in rugby league than union even though he spent most of his career in rugby but in comps nobody cares about and that he could have made himself a legend here.

Agreed.
You can leverage it financially though.
Look at SBW. Even he is leveraging being an ex NRL player (by way of commentary not that ridiculous boxing career he has) more so than being an ex all black and he won world cups and really did nothing but make enemies in NRL.
Being an NRL legend you can be a big fish in a pretty big pond whereas unless Semi has managed to become a big fish in England which I highly doubt if anybody actually knows him, he is only going to be a big fish in small ponds (he would be anonymous in France and Japan). I think Semi could have made a lot of money being a tourism ambassador for Fiji in Australia but that will not be happening.

Semi is with his family last week on random lake near Geneva living the life. I think you have him confused with a person who gives a f**k.
