You do realize that sometimes a competitor's offer is so extraordinary, that a counter-offer would be embarrassing for all parties ? That doesn't mean that we won't match it. It means that we can't match it.

To construe from that silly conclusions that he is out of the coach's favour, without all the information would be foolish.
We even waived the 10 day cooling period, the interview Ryles gave before the game told me everything i know about his thoughts on Brown. Would her prefer him to stay??? Probably but i hardly think he's slashing his wrists at losing the overpaid selfish flake.

And you aren't??? No one really knows anything but it hardly seems like Ryles is losing any sleep over his loss at all. As long as the club sticks by him he has a 4 year plan i hope he is allowed to see it through. I mean the previous bloke got 11 years with a 33% finals rate.

No, I didn't do any guessing. In the ^^ link Dylan presser he said..

"I had a few discussions with Parramatta and they put forward their best contract."

Which means we did ante up, but couldn't match it.

What you are doing is trying to make up stories.

Who’s to say our best contract was at the same value and we tried to assist with a TPA? The contract remains the same from our end. Or maybe our best contract was the one he was already on.

maybe we offered him less. Which would have reflected his true value. In the end the knights have done us a favour. Let’s move on

A picture tells a thousand words
Well it does. All your arguments against POs boil down to tHe ClUb SaId ThEy WoN't OfFeR tHeM aGaIn!!! This is the same club that offered them in the first place, made the finals four years in a row and you decided was shit. Now you think you understand their decisions? The only changes have been, in this order:

1. We supposedly stopped offering POs in 2023
2. We stopped making the finals
3. The media started winding the fans up about 'get out clauses', as though players aren't free to leave when their contracts end
4. The chairman told a bunch of fans there will be no more POs
5. We conceded 50 points in our first game

But you're certain POs were the problem? Oh dear.

Who knows what our offers were??

The only thing we heard was the club wanted the PO’s taken out and that we refused to up our offer.

So we have to take the Flakes word as gospel because it suits your argument?? Him leaving wasn’t about the money until 2 mins later when it was lol.

Hopefully the club doesn't rush to sign a new 6. We would be better off waiting to see what we currently have, and hopefully let the 6 market cool down.
I doubt the intent is to replace Drown with a like-for-like replacement. We have Moses, and Iongi is a fairly dynamic runner in the spine. We have better places to spend Drown's cap space, and can get by with a less talented six.
