The Warriors were in administration when DA took over at end of 2000 and an absolute rabble.

Never made finals

Downplaying the role he had in that joint is a weak argument.

He helped that club grow into what it is with a GF appearance from the doldrums in two years.

Preceding 3 years before Daniel Anderson

Below First 3 years of Daniel Anderson's Tenure at the warriors

Including 4 finals wins with 3 of them being in Australia

View attachment 102162

The 3 year rolling win average before DA was 9 wins between 1998-2000

Then once DA arrived at the Warriors was 16 wins between 2001-2003

Beaten by superior stats, @Poupou Escobar.
You’re slipping, buddy.

Don't get why if Anderson gets that considerations. Why doesn't BA?

Anderson was working with a much better base than what BA had. Look at squads (another post). But it's also reflected in their win rate, previous 3 year (before DA) which is much better then eels.

Eels were in rabble when BA took over. They had won the spoon the last 2 years. While 2014 to 2018, had multiple management issues.

The previous 3 years before BA got here, the rolling average was 5.66 wins. Then next 4 years it was 12.5 wins. It was enough wins for the finals 3 of the 4 years (unfortunately f/a was poor in 2014 and 2016 salary cap). That's a more than doubling of our win rate (better the DA?)

In 2016, we were placed in administration until 2018. We had a poor season in 2018 (but as per your post being placed in administration is a factor in performance).

Then the next 4 years was an improvement, after we finally appointed a "professional board" with out year to year elections.

The 4 year rolling average was 15 wins. Pretty much what you judged DA as being successful and a sign on a good coach, additionally BA maintained it for 4 years. DA only for 1 year (only 1 top 6 finish).

I get BA needed to go after 11 years (get on the Ryles train), but to claim Anderson was successful but BA wasn't (only 3 years from 11, he didn't win enough games for a top 8 spot, and 2 of those 3 outside his control) isn't really reflected by the stats and/or your comparison with Anderson.

You forgot to mention Ricky cleaned out a lot of dead wood in 2013 (lke ryles has done this yer),
BA had a far better squad in 2014, than the previous 3 years

Brough in Nathan Peats and a few others, plus I think Hopoate was back from his 2 year mormon mission

Didnt DA only have 2 years?

Exactly. I don’t have a problem with Anderson but it is beyond ridiculous that anyone can defend him and shitcan Arthur in the same post. They have very similar records in the NRL. Arthur just maintained it for longer. Three different CEOs extended his contract, including the supposedly capable Bernie Gurr.

to be fair on BA he had a shit load of adversity to contend with in his first 5 years there.

* took over a side that just won a wooden spoon
* had to face losing one of the clubs all time greats at a time where it was too late to replace him.
* had to contend with the worse board and administration in the clubs history which resulted in sanctions and a waste of a whole year.

He recovered well after getting the spoon in 18 but lacked forward planning and his identification of talant fell off the cliff post 22.

The only recruit BA brought in for 2014 was David Gower who signed in November 2013.

After Brad Arthur agreed to terms in October 2013.

The rest were already purchased by Ricky before he walked out of the place

Manu Mau was playing for Wenty in 2013

Will Hopoate signed in October 2011

Corey Norman signed on 25th March, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/03/25/corey-norman-signs-with-the-parramatta-eels/

Lee Mossop & Gareth Hock signed on 23rd April, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/04/23/lee-mossop--gareth-hock-sign-with-the-parramatta-eels/

Nathan Peats signed on 23rd July, 2013 - https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2013/07/23/parramatta-eels-sign-nathan-peats/

He get bagged cause he had 11 years at the helm and the only thing he delivered was the most embarrassing GF performance in recent memory
We won over a hundred games and made the finals five times. The grand final performance was an outlier. We overachieved to even get there.

This is a problem caused by the salary cap and lack of investment in pathways. If he couldn’t identify talent we wouldn’t have made the finals so many times.

And we won more than double the numbers of games in 2014. A massive improvement.

I'll let in into a bit of a secret...

BA didn't give a rats about pathways, period...

and I never said his ability to identify players was shit during his whole tenure.

Nobody said BA wasn’t successful, he just stayed too long. What is certain is that you and the other BA disciples loved the pineapple BA was consuming because you guys kept swallowing and never spilt a drop.

3 players with only 62 nrl between them....So you saying BA did a good job in developing talent?

2 forwards with zero NRL experience and turned Norman into an NRL quality half who only had played 29 games there.....

Nope....only making the point BA did a good job here, plenty want to claim he couldn't coach and his time was a shit show....it wasn't ....but it was time for a change...

Was the first on the Ryles train, while others were arguing about other options....
