Lomax had his best year under flanno & wanted to leave numerous times before flanno arrived. Molo was shit with us & beat up a crap bulldogs pack. He doesn't have that performance if max king was playing. Molo is a quitter.

If Liddle does leave, it will be the same shit as Lomax. By that I mean, Flanno plays him in the role he is best suited to ....that is...(in Liddles case) coming off the bench as an impact player. This is not in question as his best performances in the Red V have been in 2025. Liddle/manager say they want him starting. Assume he leaves, most clubs already have their starting hooker, so he will probably end up playing off the bench. Remind you of someone? Lomax was put into a position where Flanno thought he would play his best football....this was proven correct 1000%. He played awesome on the wing for us, made origin as a winger as was close to player of the series, was then picked for Australia and played unbelievably for his country. I'm not sure I believe it, but some even mentioned that Liddle was spoken about for Origin. If true, it is once again because Flanno has sat these guys down and given them the cold hard facts of what role they perform better at. Hopefully Liddle doesn't have to leave to prove to him that Flanno was right.

Liddles manager was talking about more minutes as much as starting.. im sure he will be happy with the arrangement he has.. not sure if the Bears would consider him as their starting 9 in 2027.. im sure he would rather lock up his contract with us now versus a 'maybe'.

Kyle’s a good 14 though. Surely there’s a simple rotation that can work for everyone and gives us a good structure on the field for the full 80.

Imo liddle role right now is close to ideal for his strengths & teams needs. Cook does the initial simple work to help get our team into rhythm then liddle comes on using his speed & support play to exploit fatigued defensive line.

Imo if liddle starts then we negate his strengths a bit.

Isaiya Katoa and Payne Hass.....it would be great to attract players of this quality instead of rummaging through the tail-end clubs bargain bins.

Whatever happens with Liddle/Cook, we still need to find the next one behind him who possibly gets to the point of being 'the 20 minute utility guy' in years to come... with a view to taking over from Liddle in ~3-4yrs time.. we have fallen in a bit of a hooker development hole due to a combination of Wishart leaving, Muhleissen not coming on and Hjalatson being injured all year.

You could grab someone like Da Silva who is a 20-minute guy, but hes looking for more first grade now (and hes missing a lot of tackles), so we need to be looking at someone earlier on in their journey who can perhaps take over from mulheisen or even haele in the next year or so.

If Taupau went and had a bitch about a good, honest and tough coach like Madge, then it is extremely likely he will do the same about a bad, dishonest and weak coach like Fraudagan. Maybe that will put some of the spotlight on him from his media mates which is exactly what is needed.

I'm going to go on a bit of a spiel here. I'm not trying to provoke, these are some real facts.
Atko is a good signing, and he is a good kicker. His passing game is fine right to left, left to right has been worked on.
He can be your no.7 no problem, he's probably better suited to no.6 but...... he's better than what you have there now at both 6 and 7.
In Cronulla world he is our perfect 14. Fills in in every position in the backline and hooker, if needed, for a game.
You guys got him on the third year offer, 100K more. The first two years were the same, Flange trumped with the third year.

If you have time tomorrow watch our game, and more particularly watch Jesse Colquhoun.

I think you have some great juniors coming into Firsts. I've said on this forum a while back how my sister lives next door to the Egans on Werri Beach. I've known how good he is for a long while.
But Jesse Colquhoun is another level.
He will be the leader of our pack after AFB is gone. I've always rated him above Hazo and TuKhu.
He has that 'something', the same as Dylan Egan has, if not more.

The saying says "you can't keep them all",
but with this kid, Colquhoun, I say to you:
"don't miss the best one"

Ideally liddle signs a 2-3 yr extension and we pick up a gun 18-20yo hooker who can transition to the nrl once liddle contract is up.
