Jake did have runs on the board to be fair. Hasn't been rep quality for a while now though, some may say NRL quality. I do think he would be good in the sheds, I would imagine he sets a great example for the newer guys, I reckon Madge would love to have him up at the Donkeys around now.

Nah Bellamy just played him where he was best suited, lock. Trying to turn him into a fulltime hooker even if Brandon himself wanted to was the mistake.

Watch Bennett turn him into an effective 13 again

Brandon Smith actually was a fulltime hooker. People seem to forget he was the Dally M Hooker of the Year in 2021. Thing is in 2022, Harry Grant joined the Storm and that is when Bellamy started bringing Gnat off the bench and moving Smith to lock. From then on he kept swapping them around, which saw Smith's dummy half skills atrophy as Bellamy more and more used him at lock.

Brandon Smith was best utilised as an impact player from the bench. Not as a starting lock and certainly not as a starting hooker.

Did it atrophy or was he just not a very well suited to hooker in the 1st place?

Sure he got Daly M hooker but that year in 2021 he'd start at hooker then move to lock. I daresay he tallied the points as a hooker because of the number on his back but actually played more minutes in the middle. Anyone with eyes can see hes a more effective middle

Robbo has Leniu, Watson and recently Smith on his roster. None of them are starters and either circumstances forced them to start or Robbo thought he could turn them into starters. In the case of Leniu it was never going to work. Smith never got going at the Roosters then the ACL came. Watson different story he is a utility.

Bennett could start Smith. They've got an issue at 9 so he might have to. But coming off a long term injury the sensible play would be 20-25 minutes off the bench.

Bulldozer at his peak. Sometime those guys have short careers.

Maybe it's just his personality but I think he already has an eye on post football. He has always been a loud mouth. After the ACL he settled into podcast land with ease so I figured he'd quit and spend his future creating headlines with hot takes.

Yeah, like the Storm are short of prop forwards. Good luck working your way up their pecking order mate. Maybe the rumours of Kamikamica going are true. He'll still have plenty of competition to make the 17.
