Flanno's New Signings

This Year?

Halfback playing for the team running seconnd would've been a great pick up unless he was requesting a ton of money (Obviously not if Catalans signed him)
Sexton is going well at the Bulldogs because he's in a different system.
At the Dragons we'd get something similar to what we saw at the Titans.
Would that be better than what we're currently getting from Flanagan/LKT/Ilias?

Agree totally sexton did a job for dogs with a dare I say superior team to us.
Dogs haven't resigned him during the year so how good did they value him
We need much better

100%. Absolute waste of talent. Looks like he couldn’t give a rats arse
Looked very disinterested last night at fullback didn’t he. Was a pretty good comeback though by the broncs. I hope LPT ends up like Xavier Willison he was very impressive and when paired with Haas they have big bodies and big motors.
I think the trouble for some young players is their total lack of maturity.

Many are young adolescent's trapped in men’s bodies in a ruthless business world and they are not mature enough to handle anything other than lifting weights and playing xbox

Some in fact are almost child like with their petulant behaviour.

We expect so much from them so early in their life and the nature of social media makes it even worse due to 24 hour nature of it and of course the vitriol that comes with it.

I think Latrell is a classic example of a true talent never reaching its full potential due to the pressures we place upon them.

I think this is the main reason why Mark Ella retired so early.

But Flanagan can’t coach or recruit remember? Must have done something right to get these two.
I'm more fascinated with the club's obsession with twins/brothers- Morris, Feagai, Couchmen. Molos, Finaus- with the twins, in one way it's an advantage- you effectively get two for the price of one because no twin really wants to play against his brother- but if one is a dud (like Max Feagai or Michael Molo) you can get stuck with him as the good one might get the irrits if you sack his underperforming brother.

So, we are in the market for a 'marquee' halfback. To make such a statement, one must be in focus or has had some contact with us (hopefully not BH).

Who could that be?

Reynolds? - Possibly, but unlikely.
Clifford? - hardly 'marquee' imo = no
Katoa? - definitly marquee, but is signed long term to the Phins = unlikely
Moses? - would class as 'marquee' = unlikely
Hawkins? - not 'marquee' at this stage of his tenure = no
Townsend? - not even close to 'marquee' = no
Savala? = too early in nhis career = no
Walker? = not 'marquee' now due to injury = no
DCE? = 'marquee' yes, crown slipping yes = possible for a short stint
Hynes? = mmmm no - too much baggage.
Hughes? = definitely 'marquee' - can't see him leaving The Storm = unlikely
Campbell? = wouldn't class as 'marquee' half = no
Luai? = 'marquee' yes, unhappy at Tiger town yes, = possibly

I've left out Cleary for obvious reasons.

Therefore, if we are chasing, or are in talks with a 'marquee' half, the only 2 that could fit the bill:

DCE - twilight of his career, not the player he once was, but can still control a game and for a modest short term stint wouldn't be too bad, especially if it meant passing on to, say Reed et al.
Luai - Has a weird get out clause in his Tigers contract, given their ladder position and current run of form, it wouldn't surprise if he is the one.

This is just my opinions based solely on what our new CEO has said about chasing a 'marquee' half.

Cobbo is unhappy with the way he has been treated at the Borncos. The Dolphins will bring the best out in him. Boy aren't the Dulphins building a great backline!

Three others- Metcalfe presumably was from the Shire originally so he might be on the list (wanting to come home)- From SL, possibly George Williams who has been linked to the Dolphins or even Mikey Lewis.

My tip is that the Dragons have out bid the Roosters, giving DCE something to think about.

I'm 20 min into watching canberra game. Sloan has been great, catch, tackle and disallowed try. Ive seen highlight reel so I know tries to come. Be sad to loose his talent. Please tell Sloan he is playing to end of contract, 26.

Problem is when is his next good game? In a month or two maybe.
No consistency.
Really hoped the best for him in the red v. Moving on now.

Flanno should go all out for Xavier Coates off contract at storm end of next season would be a long term Fullback and could cover wing or centre and still only age 24 .

Yeah, that was his strongest game imo. Even his kick returns had more determination.Coincidence that he has just been shown the door?
