Absolutely shocking positioning there from fullback and wingers, most girls can’t kick the ball more than 30m so imagine standing 5m from your goal line when the opposition are kicking from inside their own half, they did think Matt Burton was playing for the women’s team?

Jeffries has filled their head with rubbish. Everything so tentative and slow, which leads to getting dominated, which leads to errors.

We’re obviously on the back foot against this Dogs pack but we have one forward on the bench who didn’t get on till the 52 minute mark. Idiotic.

We had the GOAT coach in the women’s game and we find a way to usher him out the door. Classic Newcastle.

Yeah it was inexcusable. The fullback committed too hard to the ball carrier when she was already covered too.

I don’t rate Jeffries as a coach but some of the errors were literally under 10s level, like 2-3 incorrect play the balls, conceding a 10m penalty on the 4th tackle, kicking out on the full, off side from kick chase, a coach shouldn’t have to teach the players how to do those things properly

I just don’t accept that it’s a coincidence that, for example, Souths were making heaps and heaps of those sorts of errors last year under dingbat Demetriou, and it hasn’t been a feature of their game under Bennett. Or that the women’s side was consistently the most composed, the best at the 1%ers, the most professional, under Ronnie, and then it’s gradually gotten perceptibly worse under Jeffries.

Agreed, no the coach doesn't physically make players make silly errors but discipline, setting standards and being well-drilled is coachable.

Talent has also been massively diluted with the comp expanding from 6 teams to 12 in a very short period. NRL run the risk of having expanded the comp too quickly and having the quality drop.

Question: How did we go from the best team in the comp to irrelevant in such quick time? (could be asked about the men's team as well rofl)

The rapid expansion is a factor, but I wouldn't worry too much just yet. With the new teams and talent dispersion there's going to be a lot of random results this year.

Burwood is right though, the NRL need to be careful with this expansion they don't undo all the good work from the last few years. They should keep the number of teams at 12 for at least 5 more years if not a decade, and let the player/talent pool catch up.

Fascinating how the player base has expanded but the talent is still concentrated just as heavily as ever at the Roosters and Broncos.

Wow, that was my comment to the guys I was drinking with.

Even the Burton name drop.

It legit triggers me that John Strange has been talked up as some coaching savant because that absolutely stacked roster finally won another comp they should probably win every year.

I'm not saying he's a bad coach but come on, lol.

It’s alarming how many errors the men’s team are making this year but appears club wide.

They aren’t even hiding it anymore. This competition is purely made for the Roosters and Broncos, everyone else is just a supporting act.

How often do you see Roosters players on either 9 or fox previewing/commentating on other games? Or which significant players have they lost over the past couple of years? None…

Speaking of Brisbane, who exactly did they lose to fit poor little Tamika Upton into that star studded squad? No one..

Other teams get picked apart to accomodate these new teams with the exception of those 2 mentioned. Absolute rort.
