Dargons & Burgers

I believe two Journo’s current nit-picking at the Dragons has backfired spectacularly.

Following last year’s story where Jack Bird’s 150th game commemorative jersey was misspelt Dargons instead of Dragons, we now have Indie Bostock’s debut milestone jersey spelled Staurday instead of Saturday. The media is telling us this is embarrassing and a blight on the club “they are the laughing stock of the footy world after another horror jersey blunder”.

I believe the media are the fools – this is a fantastic marketing pitch. You have an image of an attractive young woman wearing a doubly attractive iconic jersey all over the national press. Try monetising the exposure and you wouldn’t get much change from 50K. Don’t tell me Squadron Energy aren’t electrified about it. They would be loving it!

You then have another story that the Dragons players have instigated post try celebrations aimed at Kyle taking the shape of a burger with the insinuation that it’s represents a Derrick or simpleton. How ridiculous when you have Kyle right next to them in the image and their dad is the coach with final say on whether the celebrating players are in the team?

I believe the burger notation represents the player’s beef with certain journos. I don’t have the special sauce but it could be any of those media pickles.

End of the day the printers have probs 48 hours to get the job done before whoever plays. They get the jersey Friday after telling the player Wednesday they are playing- if there is a mistake you either wear it or wear just a normal jersey. It’s not a Dragons issue but they should probably change printers.

Storm in a teacup i would just get the jersey after the game & gift it to the player afterwards once printed.

Attention to detail.

It might seem small and insignificant but things like this should not be happening.

But, maybe it reflects exactly where we are at. Someone must have seen the error but was happy to accept it rather than demanding they fix it.

Its up to the new CEO to fix it.

CEO to fix? I think he has more pressing issues to deal with first.
