You have my mouth watering, but I can't any of it. I have a thing called disaccharide deficiency. It is reasonably rare, in my case even rarer as I have it in all three ways, though not too bad in maltase. I am lactose free, gluten free and cannot have any legumes or many fruits..
WTF do you eat?!

Just had a read through about it - Poor bugger - Was it a congenital thing or acquired?

Hope you still have some quality of life that sounds a lot.

First diagnosed (sort of) during a colonoscopy due to the colour of part of the intestine. Surgeon predicted there would be problems. Had a biopsy done which confirmed it and gave me the results. That was about 12-13 years ago, I'm 64.

Can eat most meats and a few vegetable and fruits, not many. Have a look at the diet here; https://intermountainhealthcare.org/ckr-ext/Dcmnt?ncid=521363761

Sorry to hear brother - Must make dining out near on impossible - I freely admit that I take what I can eat for granted and don't think of this side of it so thank you for bringing this to my attention my friend

Damn, that would be a pain. My ex is coeliac so gluten free, the options on that front have improved heaps over the last 25 years, but still makes things hard. Adding in your extras would up the degree of difficulty though. Eating out must be fun.

Have you tried Lacteeze tabs for the lactose bit? My ex also had issues there, but they worked for her, might open things up a bit for you depending on the underlying problem.

When going out the choice is very limited. I am not a coeliac, but highly intoralant of gluten so I can have a spring roll up to once a week or hot chips or a chicken shish kebab. That's about it.

Thats good you can treat yourself occasionally at least. My ex would be cramped up and shitting blood from someone using her butter tub for normal toast and re-dipping the knife. Our kids have it too, but fortunately don't react like she does, although even though the symptoms aren't as bad, they still have to be careful for long term damage.

When we first started dating I tried to impress her with my mad chef skills by making something with flavour back when GF options were pretty much f**k all, at that time you couldn't even get GF stock cubes. All was going well and she was impressed with my creation until a few hours later when all hell broke loose. My secret ingredient was vegemite, that was the day I learned to understand what the number codes on ingredient lists meant. She was very understanding and still appreciated the effort, poor thing was crook for days. I did get good at actual GF cooking after a few years, could never crack the code for decent bread though.

I'm not mad, I'm disappointed.

Oldest is 19 and when she goes out her bag clinks and I'm missing a bottle or two of wine. Need a new hiding spot I think lol.

Carve out the pages of your bible (Or Quaran) or whatever book she is least likely to read.

And buy her a Fred flask.
