Tonight our weakness was having a brainles team on the field.
Flanno has not taught them how to play when your one man up.
15 minutes to go, Saints still taking it up the middle, even though all of our tries were scored on the edge.

For next week I would like to see the following lineup.

1. Holmes
2. Lawson
3. Nick T
4. Cutherson
5. Finau
6. LKT
7. Reed
8. Tonga
9. Liddle
10. Klemmer
11. Suli
12. Su'A
13. De Belin

14. Kyle
15. Liu
16. Fifita
17. Leilua
I really think that our coaches just have no bloody idea what our team should be doing to tighten our defence and to charge full pelt in attack with meaning and purpose and try time results. We never seem to take advantage of playing against 12 men - just take the ball up the middle so that the ball carrier can be tackled. I would be spreading the ball out wide where there would not be a cluster of defenders - not as many as in the middle anyway.

The team is going backwards and have got progressively worse over the season as they just don’t learn from experience…… typical example the first 2 tries tonight were carbon copies of each other…. we learnt
Nothing…. that sums up the season. The coach does not seem to be able to connect with the players…. how many years of transition do we need…. next year will be another carbon copy of this year without a real marquee organising halfback

For what it is worth, Both of the try’s ’down Sloan’s wing’ were as Gorley’s socks noted Moses Suli opposite centre getting on the outside and creating two on one. Little Sloan could do. Moses can motor but does not accelerate laterally.

Frankly for two weeks now we have had one express speed winger and the other a fast winger who could keep up with Val Holmes to take a pass and sprint away. Both scoring when genuine speed required. We have been close against Canberra and today full strength roosters.

As far as I’m concerned everyone can say what they want about our clueless Coaches or our brain dead players BUT there were 2 things that stood out for me tonight that were just plain wrong.
1 Suli was hit in the head by Crichton several times and Collins ran in and started a melee …… nothing to see here just go and play the ball, RORTED
2 Collins objected to Sloan diving on him so gets up pushed Sloan and I think LKT out of the way and loses the ball which then starts another melee …. Penalty Rorters FFS The NRL aren’t even trying to cover up the cheating anymore!!!
I’m over it, ALL the non fancied teams are being stitched every f**king week.

I was at the game tonight. I dont care what people say, 2 times Sloan stood there and watched them run straight past him. No attempted tackle, no nothing. He should never be selected again.
The second half try he was joined in standing still by several others.
The Roosters didn’t even play well tonight, luckily for us. I was at the Anzac Day debacle and thought we’d get square for once but that was too much to expect. Giving away stupid penalties when we got down their end. Once again a totally rubbish kicking game that never pressured them at all. Letting them get 6 points while they were a player down basically sums our team up. We let them have the ball for almost the whole time Walker was off
We throw the ball round for the first 20 mins and then its finished. Watching the same plan week in, week out.
Im just getting so sick of watching us lose, and going further down the ladder with no real chance of anything changing if we keep the same style of play every week. Surely a change of no 7 has to be our first priority. Flanagan isnt a bad player but hes not leading us round the park. Our season is done with who were playing next so why not try moving some guys around and see what happens. Weve got nothing to lose anymore

Is it just me or is Suli particularly error-prone? Don't want to single out the bloke but a couple of gems cost us dearly.. first set knock-on, and a simple forward pass to his unmarked wing killing a rare 2nd half scoring opportunity.. his size and power seem to compensate for finesse but its not paying off in results. Time for a lower grades center call up?

Suli is the biggest myth in first grade.

He makes a name for himself for his physicality which are usually a few bursts a game or a half dozen on a good day. Hardly breaks the line, barely crosses the try line and his passing game or lack thereof was on show again tonight. And yet the commentator is talking his game up like none other.

One for the scrap heap when we eventually overhaul this losing roster.

Molo had 2 more minutes of game time than Lawrie, 9 runs for 99 meters, Lawrie 6 runs for 57 meters. Tackling department Lawrie 17 and 6 misses, Molo 19 and 2 misses. Post contact meters Lawrie 22 , Molo 46. The bell is ringing .

Exactly this.

Cake had 15 mins prior half time to make an impression, he did not. 10 mins into the 2nd half and he's hooked, for a total of 25 mins with a break in between.

Unfortunately, he is contracted for next year and all the taps on the shoulder ain't gunna move him, as no-one will pick him up for the salary he's on with us. Grin and bear it I'm afraid.

The same goes with Sloan and Ravalawa, unless someone wants them on a loan deal, but that's about it.

May I add the threat of just playing "ressies" isn't a real issue for them if they're picking up a nice income.

I get Sloan comes in for a good deal of criticism here but for both of those opening tries, Smith gets on the outside of Suli with ease. I don't know what Sloan's supposed to do if the defense isn't sliding fast enough to cover the inside.
It was pretty simple when l played way back when... if a winger came in he had to take somebody AND stop the ball. Didn't happen every time but it was the rule. I haven't heard or read anyone pinpoint that Sloan (and Lomax when he was here) weren't doing this... maybe its as simple as giving him a target - take someone and hit them as the ball gets there.

Why not question why the coach keeps picking him ?
He had LPT or Viliame at his disposal
This coach also extended Sloan
‘it’s time to address these so called selection blunders and not always blame the players
Facts are at this point we will struggle to beat last years failures of 11 wins from 24 games and 11th position
We need 6 wins from the last 8 games to make an improvement
if we don’t do this we are going BACKWARDS
The decision makers will ?????

He can lose a ball at crucial times too. He is a net negative.
