I like the Raygun comparison, who wouldn’t want to be compared to a humble Aussie champion like her?

So our next test is over 4 months away - 21 st November 1st ashes test in Perth

There is some annoying ODI (3) and T20 (5) late October to Nov 8 v India
and 3 T20s in NZ early Oct

But a bunch of Shield games during this time , so hopefully majority of our guys get a couple of Shield games in at least

Lyon will come in, from the lineup 3rd test v Windies. Not sure we make too many more changes tbh...

Metallica Concert Nov 15th get me pumped for the poms 😁🔥

Death of ODI cricket is just so sad. The short formats are never on my calendar anymore. WC brings some relevance to the 50 over format but still don't have any interest in t20 cricket at any level.

All eyes on top order bats going into shield. Brisbane is the D/N fixture so could use some thought from selectors. Maybe schedule a D/N shield match?

I think Khawaja/Labs will probably open the first two tests. Then it depends on the results.

Hero retirement at the SCG for Khawaja can't be guaranteed but its ideal. Its where it started for him. Best place for it to finish as well.

The question is Khawaja being judged on runs or the fact he soaks up the new ball.

His obviously been in massive decline from a runs point of view.

The latter based on how Labs/Smith have batted since the WTC test. I thought both were quite agressive and Smith seemed to continue that into the WI series at times.

I wanted Khawaja to be moved on but options really do suck right now.

Archer and Wood will eat Usman alive, we’re gonna have to go in with two new openers, which we should have done for Windies.

Renshaw has to be one.

I can still see Uzi scoring some runs at home. Will it be enough? I don't think we have two options because the selectors have done nothing for so long

Kony can't play, there's no way. Renshaw in for him, pray for another option. Otherwise I can't see anyone who could replace Uzi, unless they go back to trying to make a not-opener an opener with McSweeney or Inglis or someone

I don’t think he’s got the eyes or reactions anymore, unfortunately.

Jake Weatherald coming off a decent couple of seasons isn’t he?

Better option that merkinstas or Labs at least.

I was a Weatherald fan for the ODI side a few World Cups ago, but now he has gone bald

The openers from the last Shield games:

Nivethan Radhakrishnan
Jake WeatherBald
Blake Nikitaris
Sam Konstas
Campbell Kellaway
Marcus Harris
Cam Bancroft
Sam Whiteman
Usman Khawaja
Angus Lovell
Connor McInerney
Henry Hunt

Probs not the only openers through the year, but that's f**ken dire...

We should blindside the poms with Konstas, McGurk and Connolly as our top 3 in Perth...

We probably lose the first test anyway like last year, may as well give these youngsters a bite at em...
