Unfortunately, if you met him in person, you'd probably say he's a very nice bloke. But being " a nice bloke" does'nt win footy games or justify his pay packet.
Well the club approached Mitch pretty soon after Ryles' appointment to renegotiate and re sign till the end of 29?, sans clauses? I'm pretty sure that was sorted, what, late Feb?

I wonder if the club tried to do the same with DBro and were unsuccessful in their attempt?
A nice bloke might have helped his club sort that after sticking by him through thick n tits.
Anway, that's just me.

Things are starting to make more sense now regarding Galvin.

Based on today’s Bulldogs team list, it looks like he was promised the No. 7 jersey and the chance to be the main playmaker — something he wouldn’t have had if he signed with us.

Imagine helping this fraud team top the table only to be shafted for some overrated kid who isn’t a halfback.

I am not sure we (the Forum, not the club) should be writing Ronnie Volkman off just yet. He had some huge wraps on him went he initially signed with the Dragons for 2024 and there was interest from a few clubs for 2025 before we signed him. Yes, he needs some work but potentially he has a future in FG given Warriors, Dragons, Sharks, Dolphins, Sea Eagles and us, have all shown interest in him.

His issue is he is erratic and has brain explosions. Needs to fix that.
Reminds me of the guy we had last year as back up 5/8

If AOB gets the punt, Ponga quits, Dylan is having reservations and the new coach whoever that may be cannot believe they’ve paid that much for Brown for a decade who isn’t 100% committed and just wants the cash, I can see a world where our 6 next year is still Dylan Brown. Stranger things have happened…
Why would he walk away from a 10-year deal, and why on earth would we offer him anything close to what he was originally set to earn, given the rubbish he’s served up on and off the field since October 2022?

The space cadet isn’t even in the top 10 five-eighths in the comp. We’ve dodged a bullet — a massive one — and Newcastle deserves a thank-you hamper from us for the next decade.

I’d be happy to chip in.

Well, I might be insane, but I think our best (by far) internal option for five-eight for at least next year is Dylan Walker.
He probably is...but at the same time you take away from the middle half role, he is playing. That role is as important as a 5/8, probably more so.

Additionally you stop the development of a rookie....and we have more options to cover the 5/8 role (give a chance to), then we have that can play the middle half role...

Meh they took 2001 away from us

This is our thank you in return.

Enjoy the next decade Newcastle.

I doubt AOB was a big selling point for him in the first place. It was all $$$
And if his Dad replaces AOB then there's no way he won't be going there.

Where else would you've expected him to play in that Dogs team?

I get that. But if you have a quality five-eight (which I think Dylan Walker would be) then I think you have less need for a 'middle half' with his attributes.

I guess whether he can go the 80 mins but I do like his interchange in the middle. It gives us another point of attack
