TALLYN DA SILVA

He might only have 21 NRL games to his name, but make no mistake Tallyn Da Silva is a player in demand.

The rising hooker was given permission by the Wests Tigers to talk to rival clubs about an immediate move and has no shortage of interest.

Da Silva is reportedly set to meet with the Cowboys, Eels, Sea Eagles and Knights this week ahead of the June 30 deadline.

The 20-year-old attended renowned rugby league nursery Westfield Sports High alongside his best mate and former Tigers teammate Lachlan Galvin. The pair also won the Harold Matthews premiership in 2022 with the Western Suburbs Magpies.

Da Silva made his NRL debut at just 18-years old and is considered a future star of the game, but is stuck behind one of the best No.9s in the competition in Api Koroisau.

The Cowboys are on the lookout for a hooker given Reece Robson is leaving for the Roosters next season, while the Knights could also do with some depth after Jayden Brailey departs.

Manly, however, are fairly well-stocked at hooker with Lachlan Croker and Jake Simpkin signed until the end of next season (Gordon Chan Kum Tong does not have a deal beyond this year).

It’s a similar situation at the Eels too with Brendan Hands and Ryley Smith both locked in until the end of next season. The latter has become the club’s first-choice hooker and is still only 22-years old, but coach Jason Ryles’ mind is clearly still open when it comes to his long-term No.9 if he wants to meet Da Silva.

Reed Mahoney (dogs) might be looking as well.

Gee, the NRL have set the season up beautifully. The Titans v's Wests Tigers in the final game of the year....another spoonbowl FFS.

For those that can remember an old movie called 'The Highlander' there is a famous line "there can be only one" well that's us...we are easily the worst team of the 2020's. If they want to steal our spoon I'm here to tell them they are in for a fight...we earn it, we deserve it.

While this might be said in jest...lets see how close it is!!!!

If we were a movie we'd be Highlander 2: The Quickening. The difference in quality between the original and the sequel was astounding, verging on unbelievable. With us of course being the shit house sequel. Speed 2: Cruise Control also comes to mind as one of the worst sequels ever. Just like the good ole Tigers. A far inferior product to the original.

A bit like Bruce Willis, deterioration with every appearance.

I posted this to show how bias the press is against us.
We release 2 kids who didn't want to be here and we are all over the news in a bad light.
The dogs release 2 of their best players because of one of our ex and hardly a word said.
Can't help but think Moses and his mates are behind it.

Questions are beginning to be answered on whether Galvin’s arrival a few weeks ago has upset the apple cart and if the Bulldogs need to resort back to the spine that helped the club to a ladder leading position.

Have they outsmarted themselves?

Taylan May and Starford To’a could be a lethal combo and I'd throw Charlie Staines on their outside. This is of course when Turuva is at the back filling in for Bula.
That would leave Tu’itupou and Skelton to fight it out for the other wing spot.
Tu’itupou is faster that Skelton. If we want a fast backline to keep up with the rest of the NRL I would suggest making this change. Also, Tu’itupou is a big unit and can make those tough carries out of our red zone.
It's worth a try. Once Tu’itupou has had his shot, we simply pick on form.
The only positions on the field that I believe should not be fiddled with is your ½-⅝-LC-RC-FB and dummy half. Once these positions are established, they should be set in concrete to promote cohesion and CONSISTENCY.....imo.

Staines has been good, better then Skelton. Jeral hasnt been the same since his knee injury. The first 3 rounds guy was unstoppable. I thought hed be a longterm winger for us but I think he'll be out of the team next year. I see our backline next year as:

1. Bula
2. May
3. Makasani
4. Toa
5. Turuva

Then Lauilili first backup. Thats a backline with size and pace, our best in a longtime.

Looks good Vic.
Also, I'd like to see Tu’itupou have a run too this year before we go firm on a certain backline.
Whilst it's nice having this depth, we need them to start winning games.
